We have just got home from a wonderful stay at the Obelus. The two young ladies who looked after us could not have been nicer or more helpful. The room was very pleasant, spotlessly clean and very quiet. The whole ambiance was welcoming and friendly-from the shelves of guide books to the jar of biscuits! The location was perfect-just round the corner from the Scala Sancta and only a few minutes walk from the Coliseum. We walked everywhere, but there is a metro stop at the bottom of the street (turn right). This was our 7th trip to Rome, but our first at the Obelus. We shall return to both!

I stayed with my friends for 4 nights in the triple room. It's a B&B where everything is taken care with a lot of attention and personal care (rooms, bathroom service etc). This is a lovely and charming place to stay. It is easily accessible to all the sights of Rome. We had a wonderful time with our hosts; they were so kind and generous. When we return we will stay at the Obelus b&b.
Thank you for taking so good care of us at our first but not last visit in Rome.

i read reviews from trip advisor & checked their website & that's how i decided. and happy with that decision. carola arranged for a pick up @ the airport, antonio waited for an hour (flight was late & my luggage didn't make it in the same plane with me). carola & stefano was waiting for us @ the obelus when we finally arrived 3 hours after the expected arrival, and we were well received just the same. there was a map for us, gave us all the directions we needed. did the registering to the police station for us. she gave us her cell phone & we can call her anytime for any assistance. gave us good suggestion for a family restaurant (i forgot the name but turn left when you leave the building, turn another left, cross the street, turn right & two blocks-marta (server) was wonderful. we were at that restaurant for our first & last night in rome. try their piatta dela casale-appetizer!). obelus is close to a lot of restaurant (giaponise-if feeling sushi, etc), corner stores, bank, metro. ... a good find!

I really enjoyed my stay at Obelus in February, 2009. The street that Obelus is located on is a bit residential, and it is within a few minutes' walk from a couple very useful bus stops and the Manzoni metro stop. There is an internet cafe down the street and around the corner that I hit up pretty frequently, since Obelus doesn't have a computer with free internet access (although I think they have a high-speed port if you have your own laptop). Carola and Lina were so helpful and friendly, and I totally enjoyed the breakfast of strong black coffee, fruit juice, chocolated-filled powdered croissant, and roll every morning. Oh yeah -- their seemingly unlimited supply of yogurt was really good as well! I have pretty high standards when it comes to cleanliness, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The photos that tripadvisor link to on venere.com are very accurate. I would totally recommend Obelus to friends and family.

My boyfriend and I wanted a cheap getaway to beat the January blues and found the Obelus to be the perfect base to explore Rome from. The hostess, who doesn't live on site, comes to greet you on arrival and again in the morning to make breakfast and is happy to give tips on sightseeing and getting around the city. The room was lovely and clean, beautiful high ceilings, great value for money. Obelus is located slightly east of the city centre, very close to the Colosseum, but Rome is so small if you're prepared to hop on a bus or do some walking it's absolutely no problem. There is also a bus direct to Trastevere which is great for restaurants and dancing. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Obelus for 3 nights at the end of a journey started in Milan, followed by amazing Venice and then Roma. The fligt was delayed and we arrived very late at night really worn out. Carola was waiting for us with a big smile on her face that felt like going back home! Obelus was by far the best accomodations we experienced in our italian tour. Carola and Lina were just amazing. They are realling working hard to make you feel home and are always ready and willing to give tips on restaurants, tours, museum tickets that saved us a huge amount of time in the lovely but sometimes caotic Rome. The rooms are quiet at night but most of all spotlessly clean! The place is about ten minutes walk from colosseum but you have a metro station down the road too. Overall we have never experienced such incredible service in a b&b before and I can't reccomended enough. Hope to go back one day. Good luck girls!!!

Being a young professional, I traveled on a low budget and simply wanted a clean, safe place to sleep while I spent the day seeing the sights. Overall I had a wonderful stay and could not have asked for a better experience.

Rooms: There are three rooms available, 2 doubles and one triple. I stayed in a double with a friend, which was two single beds side by side - very comfortable. The room was very clean and made up every day, though being budget the sheets were not changed daily - this did not bother us however. Room was on the small size but not uncomfortably so, though we were traveling with only carry-on luggage. Bathroom was modern, decent size, with hairdryer, clean. The B+B was an apartment that the owners had renovated just two years ago. Overall, clean, up-to-date and comfortable, all very important!

Location: Just 1.5 blocks away from a major bus line and about 2 blocks from the metro. Very convenient for sight-seeing; we could go wherever we wanted very easily. Just steps away are some restaurants, gelato shop, to-go deli/pizza type of place, and small convenience stores. Neighborhood not too bad, and when my friend hadn't arrived in town yet, as a single female I felt safe walking around at 10pm. The area is also quiet, and we slept very well.

Staff: Carola was such a delightful personality and very helpful. She was very accomodating to all our needs, and provided a map and basic orientation to the city as well as tips, sights to see, and patiently answered all my questions. The B+B is not manned 24/7, and the hostess (Carola was one of two) is there from 7am (to prepare breakfast) to 2pm.

Services: Breakfast is served at 7am, or earlier if you should have early travel plans. It consisted of cereal, rolls, pastries, with jam and nutella spread. Coffee, cappuccino, orange juice, and milk were available. Seems to be the typical fare for Italy, and I was plenty satisfied.
