“The Best Place Ever”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

We just returned from Rome where we stayed at the Aldebaran Bed and Breakfast for two nights before our Tuscan walking tour and two nights after our tour. We could not have made a better choice for a great place to stay. Sal & Laura, and Laura's daughter Emma, were so warm and welcoming. We were telling Laura that she attracts the best guests! We had wonderful conversations with the other guests and even shared the outdoor patio for our last dinner in Rome with a mother and daughter we met that morning. You just can't go wrong. Hugs to you Laura from Kate & John.

Room Tip: We stayed on two different rooms and both were clean and comfortable.

had never stayed in a B&B before, but after researching places thru Tripadvisor i saw that the Alderbaran was highly rated. Exchanged emails with Laura and finalized our stay. Visited in early Sept for 4 nights and was extremely happy with the selection. Laura and company made us feed right at home. We had a great breakfast every morning to start our day - drinks made to order, eggs, ham, cheese, breads, etc..... Stayed in 2 different rooms (first 2 days shared bath - last 2 days separate bath). Internet was hit and miss in the larger room. Overall would highly recommend. Met some other friendly travellers here, and it was great to be treated with a personal touch from Laura and her family. Would stay here again in future.

Room Tip: Room on the top floor with shared bathroom had A/C to get you icy cold.... perfect for hot days.

I'm Josh - I'm from London and I needed a good value B&B to stay in for a long weekend (September 2013).

I chose to stay in Aldebaran and I have to say it was excellent. Laura (and family) are the perfect hosts and really made our stay in Rome much better!

Our bedroom had the best bed ever and AC, which made life very comfortable. Breakfast is basic but delicious (as all food seems to be in Italy!) and Laura will make it all for you.

The location is fantastic for getting to Termini station and the Colosseum. Mazoni metro station is also very close, so you can really explore the city with ease.

If you need a good wifi connection you may be out of luck here as I did have trouble connecting.

However, all taken into account I would wholeheartedly recommend that you stay here!

Molto grazie Laura! x

My son Jacob and I recently embarked on our first visit to Italy. Roma was our first stop, and we were very fortunate to arrange a reservation at Aldebaran Bed and Breakfast. The proprietor, Laura, was extremely helpful and provided excellent advice on where to go and how to get there. Each morning, breakfast was delicious, and Laura and her other team members Sal and Maria were there to greet us with a smile. Our room was lovely, had a tv, safe, air conditioning, and a fantastic bed (so important when travelling!) As this is a b & b, not a hotel, there was a lovely homey experience, but the layout was such that you felt you still had privacy. The bathroom was shared in our case, but as there was no one in the other room on our floor during our stay - we ended up having it to ourselves. There is a kitchen that guests can utilize at their convenience, and the BEST part was the rooftop patio! Being able to enjoy a glass of wine and a snack in the evening, still outside, but away from the hustle and bustle of amazing chaos Roma was such a treat. The dollar for value ratio is super high! There is a grocery store around the corner, as well as the famous Fassi gelato shop - sooooo delicious! Although a little bit out of the way, it's close to many different transit options, including bus, tram and metro which made it quiet an ideal home base and a great way to start what will is now a lifetime love affair with Italy! Thanks to Laura (and Emma) for making our first experience in Roma so special.

My wife and I along with our two daughters had the pleasure of spending a few days with Laura at the Aldebaran Bed and Breakfast in August 2013. First of all, it is an excellent location, located on a beautiful street, with easy transportation within a short walk or cab drive to all the major attractions and heart of the city. Right away you feel at home with Laura who is warm and charming, offering all of her help with getting around Rome. The rooms are just beautiful and there is even a lovely terrace where one can "recover" after a long and fun day of touring. The bath is well appointed with a full body shower and beautiful marble everywhere. The bed was probably the best we encountered during our two week visit to Italia, Laura easily makes friends and adapts to the needs of her guests. She prepared wonderful breakfast treats to start our day. In just the right balance of being there to help, Laura values the privacy of her guests so you feel you have the proper privacy often lacking in a B&B situation. We would not hesitate to return to see our new friend Laura in Rome and highly recommend Laura's home as a warm and welcome stop along your travels in Italia.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are charming and well appointed.

Excellent choice in Rome!
My wife and I stayed at Aldebaran B&B in June 2013 and it's mostly recommended.
We were very well received by Laura (the owner) who gave us all the tips we need for our walks and visits through the city.
The location is great, in a silent street lass than 5 minutes walk to Manzani metro station (red line connecting to the major touristic points and Termini Station).
All very clean and cozy, a quiet and family environment that makes you feel almost like home. Nice room, comfortable bed and a clean and nice bathroom with hot shower.
All that plus Italian lessons by Laura during the breakfast, served with lots of cheese, breads, coffee, juices, fruits, honey....
So, when in Rome is a perfect place to stay. Hope to come back soon!

My daughter and I arrived from the UK and were welcomed by Laura. She, not only spoke excellent English;she took time to explain the city, the train and bus routes and the places to eat.During our stay there was never a time that I felt I was being watched but someone was always there when you needed them. The accommodation was excellent, very reasonably priced, and absolutely clean.I
recommend this accommodation above all else $ for $.
