I have not given this an excellent rating on the standards of accommodation however the accommodation is everything you need and it's clean! The rating is totally attributed to the hosts, Mary & Carlos. We came to Rome after spending a week in London and Paris. I had been terribly busy before the trip so had not made any plans at all! Thanks to Mary and Carlos we experienced the best of Rome. The highlight was visiting the vatican and standing within meters of the pope. Now I am not particularly religious at all, but the spectacle of the crowds and atmosphere was a lifetime experience. We were only able to get the tickets and the close proximity to the pope through the very careful instructions given by Mary! This would not have happened without her. Mary and Carlos know everything about Rome and spent many hours over our week guiding as through maps from the best sights to the best ice cream and pizza! The location of the hotel is fantastic and it really felt like having home to go to in a foreign but super friendly city. Thank you so so much Mary & Carlos!

My husband and I stayed in Welrome Hotel on the first week of November 2013 and very recommend this impressive hotel, because:
1. Responsiveness: From the very first time, Mary, the owner has been very responsive and helpful. She promptly replied our emails and gave various tips on transportation, places to visit, websites to book museums’ ticket, etc.
2. Location: Very near the bus and train terminal (Roma Termini), souvenir shops, and restaurants. Every places are within walking distance.
3. Room: We stayed and Pantheon room. Neat and comfortable. Wifi was fast. Price is affordable.
4. Informative: Soon after we arrived, Mary and her husband, Carlo gave us a map (even we can’t found any map in the airport), told us the directions, suggested us the course & itinerary, informed us the locations of churches, statues, fountains and even the illuminati’s way as mentioned in the Da Vinci Code [PS: I suggest you to read/watch the Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code before arriving in Rome].
5. Hospitality: Unlike the big chain international hotels, Mary and Carlo will treat you as family and patiently explain to you all you want to know about Rome. The best gelatto’s in town, the best pizza restaurant in town, anything! They even lend us their supermarket card so that we can get member’s discount.
For a first time traveler in Rome, save your time to search and choose this hotel!

The rooms are clean and confortable and from its location you can reach any of the many interesting city's sites very easily.
But the best parts are undoubtedly the caring of the owners (Mary and Carlo) and their inestimable tips which really made our trip to Rome truly unforgettable. Mary would explain everything in such detail that we wouldn't even need a map afterwards and Carlo would spend a long time giving me real lectures about art and history and helping me set our course for the next day.
In conclusion, if you're searching for an amazing experience, choose Welrome as your staying place at the eternal city of Rome!

PS: Mary and Carlo were so kind to even mail us our cell phone charger which we'd forgotten in the room.

I stayed here the second week of September with my boyfriend and two other friends in their Spagna room, and it definitely lived up to the trip advisor reviews! The room was quiet and pretty large, with a good sized bathroom, wifi, and tv. The location of this hotel was perfect...very close to metro lines and within easy walking distance of several of Romes biggest landmarks. Mary was amazing!!! She knows all the secretes of Rome and is very generous in her assistance. She really does go completely out of her way to do anything she can to help you with your questions. We were spared a lot of headaches, time, and money thanks to her! If I am lucky enough to visit Rome again, I would definitely stay at this hotel.

The Welrome was a great find, Mary & Carlo go out of there way to make you feel at home & they are a fountain of information, from the time of booking there was information emailed to help plan the stay. Their knowledge of Rome is amazing & if they are not sure they will find out for you, they saved us time in queues with their knowledge of where to by tickets & at what time to go to places, so helpful. The room was neat, tidy & comfortable. Mary & Carlo love Rome & that comes through as they help you to see as much of their beautiful city as you can. If I'm back in Rome I would stay again!

Very welcoming hotel, great location, very close to train station, great for getting to all the landmarks. Our room was very clean and comfortable, tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge. We booked Room Only but each morning we had croissants and juice sent to our room and the fridge in our room was stocked with drinks which was restocked each day at no extra charge! Now that's a first!
But the best thing about Welrome Hotel is Mary and Carlo and the information, from how to get to a landmark, what to see of interest on route, where to eat. Really enjoyed our stay.

My second stay at Welrome did not disappoint. My husband and I recently stayed here for the first three nights of our honeymoon. Mary and Carlo provided excellent service and a comfortable stay.

Great service started at the time of booking - Mary gave us excellent and easy-to-follow advice for transportation from FCO airport, saving us time, effort, and money. Walked into our room to find a bottle of champagne with two champagne flutes - a very sweet and thoughtful honeymoon surprise from Mary and Carlo. The friendly hotel owners are always more than happy to provide directions, make restaurant reservations, and give tourism advice.

The location is one of Welrome's best features - a 5 minute walk from Termini station and very close to two different Metro stations. We walked as far South as the Colosseum and as far West as Piazza Navona with no problem, though we found the Metro to be a convenient way to get back to Welrome for an afternoon siesta. Hotel is within walking distance of countless amazing restaurants.

Rooms are clean and comfortable, with adequate amenities. A continental breakfast was provided daily - very convenient for busy tourists. Wifi connection was very good.

Bottom line: If you're looking for room service and a spa, this is not the hotel for you; but you won't do Rome any justice by hanging out in a hotel. Welrome is the perfect hotel for a comfortable stay after spending your day pounding the pavement and seeing what this amazing city has to offer.

PS: For the most amazing pizza within a 7 minute walk of Welrome, check out Pinsere Roma Pizza!
