“Want a good night's sleep? Then don't stay here.”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

My other half and I stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of a 2-week tour around Italy. We stayed in 3 other hotels and this place had the worst bed by far... sleeping on the floor would have probably been a more comfortable option. We both woke up with sore backs and resorted to arranging a spare blanket on the mattress to provide some extra comfort. Even so, we had 2 nights of broken sleep. The worst bed I've ever slept in - avoid!! Unless you like sleeping on planks of wood.
Location is a major plus for this hotel - most of the famous attractions e.g. Spanish Steps are walkable.
Breakfast is pretty decent, with a choice of hot drinks, juices, pastries, cereals, yoghurts etc. It is also brought to your room which was rather nice.
The hotel itself is set on 2 different floors and there are a fair few flights of stairs to manage with bags if you, like me, take one look at the antique lift and think "no chance". It was a good way of working off all the pasta/pizza though.
Overall, it was an OK stay (sleeping aside!!!) but would choose elsewhere if returning to Rome.

We stayed here for 5 nights. All of the staff were helpful and friendly at all times, and in our opinion they are the main advantage of this place.

Location is nice in a relatively quiet part of the city. The Spanish steps is a 10-15 minute walk away. Supermarket next door to the hotel. Do ask the staff for directions to the pizzeria in Via Marche (5 minute walk) if you are hungry for a quick snack.

We stayed on the fifth floor, the rooms here seemed to be almost new. Our room was equipped with minibar, small safe, TV and aircon.

Breakfast consists mainly of pastry, but there is also cereal and yoghurt available.

The only thing we were not so happy with was noise between rooms, as we from time could hear the TV in room next to us or people talking in the hallway.

Unfortunately my husband and I were only able to spend one night at the Roma Boutique Hotel but it was a great experience. From the very beginning....making the reservations, all the questions, etc. etc. Roberto and Alessandro went above and beyond to ensure that everything was taken care of. Upon arrival we were shown to a lovely guestroom that had all the amenities you could need. It was beautiful and comfortable, very clean and updated. We had a short but delightful visit and upon our return to Roma we will definitely stay at the Roma Boutique Hotel. It is a true gem!

Definietly recommend this lovely, friendly Boutique Hotel. Situated in a very upmarket area of Rome near the US embassy, we found it very easy to get around all the sites, on foot to the spanish steps and walking distance to a metro for the Vatican, we actually got a cab to the colosseum as only 6 Euros and much easier. The staff at the hotel couldn't be more friendly and the room was perfect, lovely and clean and modern, brilliant shower. We had the room cleaned every day with fresh towels, the breakfast in the morning was pastries , juice and coffee which was plenty as eating out in Italy for lunch and dinner we were pretty full! If we return to Rome we will visit this lovely hotel again as great value for money in an obviously very good area judging by the very expensive 5 star hotels around.

Room Tip: Didnt see the other rooms but ours looked over the front of the hotel, we did say it was our anniver...

My expectations had been raised very high by some of the reviews I had read. Although I found it very plesant and have no real criticisms, I wasn't as bowled over as others clearly have been. The location is reasonably central in that you can easily walk to all the main sights but I would describe it as on the edge of the central zone. It is handy to be able to walk from Termini station (10 - 15 mins) and the Spanish Steps are less than ten minutes walk. The immediate area is top end, with a number of very swanky hotels just around the corner. The Spar shop next door was very handy indeed for drinks and snacks. Our room was of an average size and done out in a clean, modern style with plenty of storage space. The bathroom was very nicely fitted out. Our window opened into a central courtyard with no view but the room was quiet, apart from a very frequent noise of running water that sounded like it was coming through the walls. The mattress was extremely firm. Breakfast served in the room was better than expected - the photos on this site don't really do it justice. The restaurants in the local area were a little high end for our choice (and pocket) and we failed, in the four nights we ate out locally, to find anywhere we would recommend, although none were awful. Bar Lembo, on Via Crispi on the way back from the Spanish steps, was great for a cheap beer on the way home from sightseeing and was frequented mainly by locals. The staff at the hotel were all very polite, friendly and helpful. The set up, with the hotel not being in its own building or having its own entrance, was unusual. It was not a problem at all but didn't feel like staying in a hotel as such. Overall, the hotel is very pleasant and very good value for the area.

My wife and I just spent 3 fantastic nights here! Right from our arrival we were treated like royalty. The owner greeted us check us in gave us a run of the city and great restaurant recommendations.
Upon entering our room they had placed a fresh bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne to welcome us for our honeymoon.
The hotel was very modern and decorated very nicely. Our room was large and very romantic. The maids kept our room in top shape. I would stay here again and again thank you for the wonderful time in a very central location.

Our only issue is that we did not stay long enough!!!

Ciao Roma

Hotel is recently rennovated with some of the nicest bathroom facilties we have seen at this price-point. Elevator and free Wi-Fi available. Breakfast included and served privately in your room each morning. About a 15 minute walk to the Piazza Bararini or the Spanish steps (these would be the closest Metro stops), but if you don't mind a little walking, it's a great location in a safe neighborhood. Staff is very attentive.
