“well reccomended good value”

me and my partner have just arrived back from staying in impero for 3 nights and i can honestly say the hotel was well worth the price we stayed at room 122 which was over looking the opera house which was amazing looked like a master suite. The hotel was very clean, staff very helpful, breakfast basic, the outside off the hotel doesn't look anything like the inside was a bit run down but overall we had a fantastic stay and want to thank all the staff would recommend this hotel and this room.

We stayed here for 4 nights, and were perfectly satisfied with the room we were in. The hotel and room were clean, well furnished and had its own central heating - the bed was comfortable, and had spare blankets and pillows. Clean bathroom, a small shower, hairdryer etc. Staff were very friendly, and helped us out with any queries we had. The windows keep out the noise of the streets well, but you may find you need them open to air the room a bit at nights, as it can get very hot (even on the chilly nights we were there)!

Breakfast was average - pastries, bread rolls and coffee; cereal; and salad. Nothing special, but satisfying enough to take you through to lunch. Very central location - a few minutes walk from the main Termini and within a good distance of all the major sights.

Stayed here for the weekend 18-21 Jan 13 - could not fault the hotel. It's a 5 minute walk from the Termini station (strait through form the airport) following the directions given by the hotel on their website. Reception very friendlily and helpful, nothing was any trouble. Hotel was immaculate throughout! Our room was on the top floor (5th) with a door to the roof terrace overlooking the streets of Rome, great views. Bathroom was spacious and again was pristine clean. We literally washed and slept in the room and couldn't ask for better. Breakfast is a small but varied cold continental buffet, we filled up in the mornings on coffee, cereal, croissant and fresh bread which kept us going throughout the day. The location of the hotel was pretty much bang on in the middle of everything. We walked everywhere, took 10-15 minutes the get to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, about 45-50 minutes to the Vatican (if you go the right way, we took a slight detour, but worth it to look at the sights) We didn't go in the Vatican as its closed on Sundays, but we did see the Pope, it seems every Sunday he does a service to the public out of the Vatican window into the crowd below - interesting to watch. There are lots of restaurants close to the hotel one of which they recommended to us, which was lovely.
A few tips:
1) Watch out for touts trying to sell you guided tours around the Colosseum and roman ruins. They try to charge you 45 euro each to a 2 hour tour of both combined. They try and sell on the basis you get to go right to the top and into the underground floors of the Colosseum - we saw no-one doing this? At the main entrance of the Colosseum we paid 12euro each plus 4euro for a tour headset for the both the Colosseum and roman ruins sights, these tickets last 2 days! We went over the road in to the ruins and spent hours in there looking around, amazing things to see. again not something the tour guides would have offered. This is not to say don't go with the guides but you can save a lot of money by being independent and can still learn loads from the free info given or by getting headsets.
2) be careful of the people dressed as gladiators around the Colosseum, they will try and grab you for a photo, look great, but will expect a tip of around 10 euros!
3)Keep an eye on the easterners, they try to flog you anything from umbrella's, beads, nick nack stuff, a polite firm NO see's them away.
4)The shopping is expensive, so if your planning on buying clothes/shoes take lots of extra pennies.
5) The state now declares that all tourists pay 2euro take per room per night. no biggy, but something to be aware of.
6) Get a paper 'tourist' map they give them away for free at reception - there a godsend it got us everywhere.

All in all we had a brilliant time, and would defiantly recommend Hotel Impero!

Room Tip: Choose top floor, access to roof terrace via patio door.

stayed for 4 nights in January 2013. staff were great.room was very clean.for the price i was more than pleased. We stayed in room 504 with a door to the terrace,it rained a lot whilst we were here and a little came into the room, but it was ok considering the amount of rain we had. will stay here again with out a doubt. the location is only 5 minutes from termi station and 5 mins from bus to cio airport, longest walk we did was about 50 mind to st Pauls/Vatigan..we walked to all attractions from here because by the time you waited for a bus/train we could walk in the same time.

Room Tip: top floor rooms for terrace if you smoke

Stayed here for a few days at a great rate. Downfall is beds are uncomfortable and breakfast is not a hot one! Consists of bread rolls, processed cheese, cereals etc. There was building work going on at the end of the corridor in one of the other rooms. Wasn't a problem to us but if you wanted a little nap in the day it was a bit noisy. Would of been nice for the staff to inform us of this.

Can't really complain much as the price was really good and the hotel clean and smart. The location is really good if you are getting the train from the station (Termini) which is located around the corner.

Twenty minute walk to the Colosseum and The Forum and a nice walk! Would recommend for a few days stay at this amazing city!

It was in a nice quiet area. The room was nice, but small. The major problem was the television. Although you areon vacation and spend most of the time out, when you want to relax after a long day and watch TV that was not possible. The TV was tiny, and there were no English speaking channels except CNN. There was also no DVD player, so my kids had a rough time. The fridge was also small, and the only things that could fit, was the stuff you had to purchase. We could not fit our store-brought drinks or leftovers.

The hotel is close tot he metro. Overall, nice hotel for couples or solo vacation, who would spen little time in the room. Oh, the staff was nice.
