Nice apartment style hotel with kitchenettes and within easy walking distance to the Vatican, which was the main reason we choose this place. The rooms were much larger than expected, although minimally furnished. We've never been to Rome before, so this may be the norm here. The desk staff were extremely nice and helpful, even arranging transfers for our party of 16. From what we found for other places in Rome, the price was also extremely competitive.

The apartment was clean and very nice. The location was perfect (near Vatican City and 10 minutes walk to the centre of Rome). It was very hot in Rome (35 degrees) so the airconditioning in the apartment was appreciated! Poor matresses so poor sleep quality.

Triagnon Borgo Pio apartments are a good option for someone who needs a self-service set up. The neighborhood is nice, residential and on a quieter side and very close to both St. Peters and Vatican Museum. The parallel street has quite a few restaurant options and there is a small grocery shop half a block away; we also found a Billa supermarket within 10-15 minute walk. We reserved a studio with two beds, but were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment that can fit 5 people, so we had a lot of space. It was nice for two people, but I am not sure if it would work for 5 adults though. A very generous foyer/hallway, one bathroom and a separate kitchen (very good size) completed the apartment. Every room had a separate AC unit, so that was great. Kitchen had all the appliances and necessities. Since this is self-service no towel/linen change or trash pick up or cleaning service; but that was fine with us (there is a dumpster a block away). I believe there is a coin laundry in the basement. Our apt. was few flights up, so it felt safe, but I would not want to stay on ground floor, since the front door is wide open. There are couple negatives I’d like to mention; no screens on windows (some mosquitoes got in) and the shower doors design is flowed (a big gap makes a big puddle on the floor). I did like the internet access in the basement (has two computers, but only one worked at the time) The reception office is not open 24/7, so plan ahead; but when the gal was there she was very helpful (we scheduled airport shuttle through her, but beware that driver insisted on a higher pay than we were told to give him; 50 euros instead of 45)

apartment spacious, well stocked, air conditioning worked beautifully, especially on days when it at 30 degrees.
staff happy to help with free guides and when we requested a slightly later departure time it wasnt a problem.

You won't beat this place. It is in a quiet neighborhood within a few blocks of Vatican City and Castel St. Angelo. Easy to get to bus stops. Metro is a short walk. Grocery store 1 block away. They have several rooms all with basic kitchens.
The staff is very friendly and will help in any way they can. There are washing machines.
We have stayed there 3 times now-2007, 2010 and 2011 and have fully enjoyed every visit.
This is away from the crowds which is exactly what we wanted.
Great air-conditoning.
Fitness room, Computers, vending machines and a community room.

Room Tip: All the rooms we had were great.

This is a centrally located apartment in Rome, 10 minutes to the Vatican and with a good selection of dining nearby. We had a 3-room apartment on the 3rd floor. The apartment was reasonable size, with one bathroom to share and a small kitchenette with a refrigerator.

The room was of a mediocre standard. Old decor and furnishings, and uncomfortable beds. Also, no housekeeping for the 4 nights we were there. The floor was old cold tiles. No breakfast provided. Reception was fairly helpful but could not compensate for the standard of the rooms. Also, the entrance to the hotel is located at a small street, so it was difficult to drive in a car to load up passengers and luggage without obstructing traffic.

This is a well run apartment block ideally situated for the Vatican and eating out. It is quiet and clean and nearly always staffed at this time of year. We had a twin bedded apartment on the 1st floor with shower room and kitchen. It is also fitted with 2 air conditioning units which were very necessary. Just around the corner are perfectly decent restaurants and delis. If you want the sort of freedom self catering offers then I would have no hesitation in recommending this place. The metro is a very reasonable €1 for all journeys, even almost to the airport although at the end of the metro line you need to take a bus or taxi to Ciampino (€12 approx)
