“Perfect Portrait”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

I am SO glad we stayed here, perfect location near the spanish steps, you really are a VIP here with the staff knowing all of the small number of guests. I have stayed at some of the large hotels in Rome and you are just one of many. Here you get special attention to your needs from the staff who do get to know you and what you are looking for.

The rooms are huge, bathrooms are wonderful, the Top floor bar, breakfast area is wonderful with an amazing view over all of Rome. It was quite full while we were there but never felt busy or crowded. This is the hotel for me in Roma.

Molto molto bene Portrait Suites.

Room Tip: Any room in this hotel.

A beautiful tiny hotel, tastefully designed and oh so well located!
the hotel is small, Intimate, lovely terrace overlooking the Spanish steps with an open bar (make yourself a cocktail and sign it to your room or order a tasty snack). Our room was spacious, with a huge bathroom, and a terrace. We really don't care for boutique hotels. They are usually over-designed, with tiny rooms. not this hotel, the design is relaxing and beautiful.

Room Tip: We stayed at 653 which had the Spanish steps view

The Portrait Suites is at a perfect location and has a rooftop terrace that has probably one of the best views in Rome. It's simply amazing to be up there having a glass of wine with views of Piazza di Spagna, Villa Borghese...
The hotel is beautiful, elegant and very well designed, what you would expect of a Ferragamo's property. Our room (431) was great, everything we needed - enough space for everything, work space, internet connection, living room, a beautiful bathroom and a great bedroom.
The only thing for us is that we expected more from the staff. Nothing bad at all, but it's a small boutique hotel, with Ferragamo's signature and that made us expect more. Maybe more personalized attention.
Not a problem at all and we'll certainly go back there, but a possibility of improvement.

This hotel has only 14 suits and everyone is special. I am not into high fashion but I love luxury boutique hotels. This is one of the best that I have ever had the pleasure to visit. It is right above the main fashion boutique streets (Via Dei Condotti) in Rome. The street is extremely busy with shoppers and visitors to the Spanish steps (you could throw a Spanish dubloon and hit them) but when you are in the hotel with the windows closed, you cannot hear anthing? I read the other reviews about the breakfast being boring, I disagree. Maybe being American, where breakfast is not an event, is the reason why I was delighted to have good coffee and a selection of food daily. The staff are all friendly and knowledgable. The all spoke the English language well and had great recommendation for dinner and site seeing. All in all, this is an extremely special place to stay in Rome.

I try to use the 5/5 rating on TA sparingly. But some places deserve a 6/5 rating. This is one such place. This is not merely a hotel, it is an experience. Like staying at a chic friend's place.

The location is amazing, although a bit dangerous if you or your husband/wife are fond of shopping. In fact, the hotel's decor inspires one to shop, since the hotel is owned by the Salvatore Ferragamo family, and appropriately decorated with his groundbreaking shoe models. With this hotel, you are 15-30 minutes walk from most of Rome's "must see" sights, and then some. Moreover, the location affords amazing views over the Spanish steps from the rooftop terrace (see photo).

The hotel is beautiful and immaculate in every way, from the cleanliness, to the design, to the shower products. But what really sets this place apart, is the staff. From the moment you book and before you even arrive, you are provided with fantastic sights and activities guides, such as a gelatto making class or seeing Rome from a hot air balloon. The restaurant list is composed by the staff itself, who regularly visit each restaurant to bring only the best suggestions. Finally, the level of service you get from check-in, to check-out is simultaneously all-encompassing and inobtrusive. Just to give one example of the attentiveness of the staff. During our first breakfast, we used up all the strawberry jam, but none of the others. So at next morning's breakfast, there was extra strawberry jam provided.

Due to its small size, the hotel does not have a pool or a spa. While these are nice amenities to have, not having them

We just stayed in this hotel last week - a family of 5. The hotel is located in the shopping district in Rome and it is just a couple of blocks from the Spanish Steps. It is walking distance to many of the sites in Rome. I have travelled alot and stayed in many fabulous hotels. This hotel stands out because of the wonderful service and comfort and beauty of the rooms. The interior was designed by the Ferragamo folks. It was modern, beautiful, spacious and luxurious. The bed and bath were tremendous. The staff of the hotel went out of their way to make our stay the best. They took enormous pride in their service. They arranged for marvelous restaurants, (we always sat in the best table), private guides, taxis and maps. They spoke wonderful English and always had a smile on their face. Outstanding! We will never stay at another place in Rome!

As someone who has travelled extensiely with a family for years, I have to say that the Portrait Suites in Rome was the number one place that we have stayed at. When we first arrived, the staff greeted us with open arms. For the next 3 days, they knew our names and were attentive to all our needs. The rooms were immaculate and designed for comfort. The breakfast on the terrace was tremendous as was the view. No matter what we needed from phone chargers to reservations at any restaurant, the staf satisfied it all. From the General Manager to the rest of the staff, I can truly say that The Portrait Suites will be the only place we would stay at for our next trip.
