Good location, very clean. No privacy, the toilet and shower is separated from the room and you need to cross the main area to use it.Rooms are out dated but clean,no tv, no phone, and no fridge inside the room, A/C works fine.Small shared kitchen in the main area, you need to boil water to make instant coffee or tea. Break fast is self service but 24 hours,no hot meal and you wash your own dishes. Owner is very friendly and help full, they help you with luggages since the elevator is not reliable at all.

The manager is fantastic; he provided great information about the city, knew which driver services were more reliable, and literally came down the street late at night when we had a question. Their facilities (they have several buildings) are under renovations, but we were comfortable and happy. Great Internet. Breakfast is a voucher given to you, and you go across the street to the Irish restaurant for a croissant, juice, and coffee or tea.

The Matisse B&B was clean and in a very good location as it was a walking distance to the spanish steps, the fountain de trevi and the termini station. It offered free Wi-Fi and it also had a computer in the main area for the guests to use. Roberto and Antonio were very friendly and helped us with our luggage. The b&b, also had a 24 hour kitchen which was very nice. The only problem was that the bathrooms were private but they weren't attached to the bedroom. We only stayed here one night as the owners upgraded us to their other b&b named Nakissa. Overall we were satisfied with the b&b and would stay again!

Matisse B&B is clean and conveniently located. Roberto was great- we arrived early in the day so he gave us a choice of rooms. He also made suggestions of places to change currency. I will advise that the hotel amenities that you see on the website are not available if you stay a room in a different building (there are a few). There is no access to the the reception area with computers or the 24 hour breakfast mentioned on the website. All common areas are off limits. The courtyard with the fountain does not belong to the hotel- I was scolded and chased out for just walking to the fountain. If you are looking for just a clean place to stay this is a good place, and it's within walking distance to the train station and many other sites.

Our stay in Matisse was incredible, it is a very quiet place close to all the attractions of Rome. Tonino & Roberto were very helpful and advised us and make the most of our trip. The breakfast is amazing and the rooms are spacious and very clean.

From the first, Roberto was friendly and accommodating. When he saw that my elderly mother was having trouble with the (one flight) of stairs, he moved us to the property on via Cavour, which had an elevator and was a great location - close to the Forum, the Colosseum, the Capitoline Museum, etc. The room and area was scrupulously clean and when my mother mentioned that my camera battery died, Roberto took the battery, went out and bought a charger for us, and charged it up. That saved us an afternoon of hunting around for a camera store and was well beyond the call of duty, for which I was very grateful.

Being on via Cavour was a little noisy but I loved being near so much action. There were lots of great little restaurants, bars, gelaterias and caffes within a few blocks and we came to have our favorites. Roberto's recommendations are always worth following up; he never steered us wrong. We had a private bathroom, beautiful marble floors, and there was a little terrazzo where one could eat breakfast al fresco. It was also convenient to have use of a refrigerator so that we could buy bread, cheese, fruit, etc. for a snack and store it there.

I had read some reviews that made me leery of my choice but I am so glad that I went with Roberto's Matisse B&B. He likes people and if you are friendly, he'll willingly become your friend. He's a great resource, too, and doesn't mind answering questions. I recommend his place and personal service very highly. Bill
