“Perfect for Our Family of Four”
Reviewed April 23, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This was the perfect place for our family to stay while visiting our daughter, who is studying in Rome for a semester. Located in a quiet, suburban neighborhood only a few blocks from her school and right on a bus line that goes to the city center, it was very convenient for sightseeing and getting around Rome. The apartment is beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, and having two bathrooms was a luxury!

Adalberto is the perfect host. He arranged our transportation to and from the airport and gave us a walking tour of the neighborhood, even showing us the panoramic view of the city from Gianicolo Hill. When he realized that, because we arrived the night before Easter, nothing would be open for breakfast the next day, he even showed up at our door with a plate of breakfast goodies for us!

The only advisories I would give are that the local shops that sell bus tickets run out quickly, so try to purchase them in advance, and be aware that the 3.5 Euro tax per person/per night is collected at the end of your stay, so make sure you have enough Euros on hand or plan to go to an ATM on the last day.

“Mille Grazie, Adalberto!”
Reviewed April 7, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This was our first trip to Rome (parents & 16 yr old daughter). We wanted to be close to where our older daughter is attending university and liked the idea of a little more space than a hotel could offer. This apartment was great! It's quite spacious, spotless and well equipped (including WiFi). But truthfully, the best part of this apartment is the owner, Adalberto! He was able to arrange taxi transport from the airport to the apartment, met us there to give us the keys and familiarize us with the apartment and then gave us a neighborhood tour. Everything you want is just outside the apartment door-restaurants, gelato, grocery store, pharmacy, pizza, cappucino, a beautiful park just up the street, bus line to central Rome and Vatican City, and a short walk to one of the most beautiful scenic overlooks of Rome anyone will ever see. The time he took to get us familiar with the neighborhood and bus routes was invaluable. Mille grazie, Adalberto! FYI: We were a little concerned about graffiti on the buildings in the neighborhood, but graffiti seems to be the rule, not the exception, in Italy. There were absolutely no safety issues during our trip.

“Nice apartment that I gladly would come back to”

We had a good week staying at this nice and spacious apartment. It is located in a fine area, and it is easy to reach by public transport. Our host Adalberto was very friendly and helpful, and showed us the neighborhood the first day of our stay. He also organized transport from and to the airport. So we were very happy with our stay. One advice: transport with bus weekends between the apartment and the center of Rome may cause much waiting. Better take the taxi.

“Excellent place for your Roman Holidays”

We have stayed there for 7 days and it was great. Good location (bus nearby takes you to central location in Rome and from there - it's up to you to decide where you go). The host was very helpful and friendly! Thanks again for being there for us.

The place is comfortable and clean. We would stay there again if we travel to Rome.

“Excellent apartmentment, great position with an amazing host!”
Reviewed October 19, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We stayed at romae gianicolo in October 2014 for 5 nights. We were greeted by Adalberto who showed us the property and spent time showing us the local area including bus stops, local facilities and landmarks. This made our trip to Rome so much easier and saved us valuable time in getting orientated to the area. The apartment was very clean and a great place for our family of four. The Wi-Fi was great so our teenage boys were very happy! We would highly recommend staying at Adalberto property to anyone. He is a fantastic host and the apartment was perfect. A++++.

“An excellent, spacious, well equiped and clean apartment in a great location”
Reviewed September 21, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We rented this apartment for several colleagues attending a congress. The host was extremely helpful, and gave a short tour of both the apartment and the local community, where he lives, so we knew where evrything was that we might need. The apartment was very comfortable, well equiped, spacious and clean. The location is very nice, close to Trastevere and within easy distance of many attractions.

“Wonderful apartment; excellent location; perfect host”
Reviewed September 12, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We visited as a party of four in early November and had a wonderful time. The apartment is spotlessly clean and has generous amenities (free wif, air-con, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen). The rooms are comfortably sized with plenty of storage and each has a ceiling fan. The apartment is beautiful - high ceilings and spacious interiors with large bathrooms and there's useful stuff like iron/ironing board, hair dryer. We would especially commend the cleanliness - it's immaculately presented with two useful balconies (there's a clothes airer and pegs so easy to dry clothes). We cooked lots of meals - there's plenty of pots/pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery etc. You just need to buy food.

The apartment is in a good safe place and is right next door to the police station. It's a very nice little neighbourhood - peaceful and quiet yet with a good range of shops and services. There are several good nearby restaurants and shops. Opposite is a large supermarket where you can buy loads of food, toiletries, household stuff. It's like a Tesco basically - you can get nearly anything there and it's open everyday till about 8:30pm. There's a 3 mobile store across the road if you need to get sim card/mobile data.

The landlord, Adalberto was the perfect host. Prior to arriving he booked a taxi for us which was very helpful. There's a lift in the apartment block but it's only one floor up so not too hard to carry the bags up! Upon arrival, he spent over an hour showing us around the area pointing out good places to eat such as restaurants and a top gelateria. His son later told us of a local pizzeria which is reputedly one of the best in Rome although we didn't go. Adalberto walked us to the nearby Villa Doria Pamphili, a beauitful villa which is in the largest landscaped public park in Rome. It has a pretty lake and beautiful gardens and is well worth a visit. Also 5 mins walk away is the Gianicolo or Janiculum Hill which has wonderful panoramic views of Rome. Well worth a visit and only a short walk. Then he showed us the nearby bank (for ATM machine) and the place to buy bus/metro tickets. So the general area of the apartment is ideal - safe, quiet, with lots of useful shops (e.g. you can buy postage stamps at the newsagent opposite and the postbox is right outside). Adalberto was on hand to help us with many queries before and during our stay. He was prompt and helpful with email queries and once in Rome, was contacted him regularly on WhatsApp and telephone and he was always generous and helpful. It was a real highlight of our stay!

In theory you could walk into the centre of town but it would probably take around 45 minutes. It's probably around 25-30 minutes to the Vatican which is doable. But it's easier to go by bus. There's a bus (number 44) that stops right outside the apartment and goes direct into the centre of town. The number 44 bus is frequent (10-15 mins or so) and runs to midnight or even later I think. There's a nearby metro station too (10 min walk). For bus and metro, each one way journey costs 1.50 euros. In Rome you can't usually buy tickets on the bus; you have to buy in advance from shops such as newsagents. Fortunately, there's a newsagent across the road and a cafe further down that sell tickets. However, note that the newsagent is closed on Sundays so you might need to buy in advance.
