“Small hotel BIG in Everything Else”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

Everithing they say in their inter-net site is true. After extensive research I booked this hotel. Ariving by train the location was near the train station, short walk (eventhough I am part of the golden age generation). We were upgraded to a high floor room- I think it was in the 4th floor. King bed and the room even thou small ,it was well laidout .The elevator was out of order hence the 4 star rating. It was working next day. The reception was great, helping with restaurant directions and calling them to see if they were open (late night) The hotel was in a quiet area. We walked to get the Hop On Hop off bus. We felt safe. The porter was very friendly and willing to help.
Breakfast ladies were extremely friendly and the buffet was well accomodating (EGGS!).Will stay there on our nex trip.

Dear Guest,

It is a pleasure to read your review. We are glad to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us and that you have found many qualities about our Property.

As for the issue you encountered with the lift, we are sorry to hear that this did in fact affect your remark of our Hotel. Here at Diocleziano we always make sure that our Guests receive the best possible Service, therefore we always have a repairman on shift in order to solve as quickly as possible these small issues. Probably on this occasion the malfunction could not be repaired immediately due maybe to the need of changing a specific piece of the lift which we could not retrieve on the same afternoon. As such the lift had to be kept out of order in the evening and it was repaired in the morning as you have been able to use it already the next day.

We would like to apologize for this inconvenience and we do hope to have you back as our Guests so that you may experience Diocleziano’ Service at its best.

The hotel was great! The service was friendly and very helpful. They would give insider tips and help make any reservations. It was a 3 minute walk to the train and metro stations. It was a short walk to all major attractions.
The room were nice, clean, and well furnished. The shower was small( we Americans are used to a bigger shower area) the bathroom was beautiful, and the gym was beneficial. We will be staying here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Diocleziano on our frist visit to Rome First off it was easy to get to it from the station but it is in a quiet street
It is just across the square in front of the station Just cross on the right hand side and you can see a sign directing you to the Hotel
The Hotel Diocleziano was great for accessing everything in the day time including hop on hop off bus etc but for us it was not as great to see the main sites of Rome by night as we didn’t want to make the shortish walk back after a mad hot day site seeing
However the Hotel recommended excellent, great value, restaurants within very easy walking distance These were used by locals mainly as well as tourists who like us were lucky enough to be directed to them by their hotels, In particular we liked La Lampada and La Famiglia
We would also compliment the very friendly hotel staff especially Doreen and lovely breakfasts
The only minus as far as we were concerned was the constant noise at night time even though we asked for a quiet room I assume the noise was from air-conditioning fans and couldn’t be avoided Otherwise 5*

Our stay at this hotel was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and shown to our room. I had requested a room with a private terrace. We took the elevator to the top floor (or so we thought). The bellman however took a left and led us to a staircase going up one more floor. The door at the top of the stairs opened to an alcove with a single bed and a porcelain tiled bath. From the alcove, a door led to a spacious room with a king bed. The thing that makes this room special though is the private terrace off of the alcove. The windows from the bedroom and the terrace itself directly overlook the cloister garden of Santa Maria degli Angeli which was built on the ruins of the Diocletian baths. In the distance, you can see the Vittorio Emmanuel Monument. After a long day walking all over Rome, there is nothing better than sitting outside and watching the sun set over the rooftops of Rome.

Stayed here for a short break in February, just after the first snow fall in Rome for 27 years. Fantastic staff, really good service from everyone, especially in the breakfast room. Entire hotel exceptionally clean. Rooms good size and well looked after. Good location - walkable to most sights, except the Vatican - close to Termini railway station, metro, buses, etc.

Anyone looking for a great hotel, that is centrally located and has a staff that goes out of it's way to make sure that your stay is enjoyable should stay at Hotel Diocleziano. My wife and stayed there for two nights ahead of a cruise and could not have been happier with the choice. The Hotel staff also helped us with transportation to the port of Civitavecchia, which was a huge help and set up a tour for us in Rome so we could see the sights. So if you are in Rome to see the sights or to go on a cruise Hotel Diocleziano is a great place to stay.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a 3 week trip in europe and this was by far the best hotel of that trip and one of the best i have stayed in. The reception staff were fantastic, extremely friendly and helpful and the concierge was a great guy too, i dont always leave reviews on sites but i felt i had to here as this hotel and staff are outstanding and i recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to rome. for the location and quality of the hotel.
