“Special Time in Rome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

My husband and I have iterally just returned from a wonderful weekend in Rome, where we were fortunate enough to have spent a night at the Inn at the Roman Forum (and it's sister hotel the Inn at The Spanish Steps). To say we were delighted with the experience is an understatement. The service we received from the staff at both hotels was first class. The accommodation was breathtaking and the location of both hotels made the sightseeing so easy, as everything was within walking distance. We would gladly recommend both of these hotels to anyone travelling to Rome, as for us, they have made our stay truly memorable.

This hotel is very centrally located yet it is in a peaceful and quiet setting. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms lovely. We had a problem with one room one morning caused by noise coming from renovations in the next door building. Even though this was no fault of the hotel, we were moved to another more expensive room ( the beautiful garden suite) where complimentary drinks awaited us, as well as not being charged for what we had consumed from the mini-bar in our previous room. It felt very much like the staff would do all that they could to make the stay as pleasant as possible, and this is the level of service you would expect in such a hotel. Personally the unique selling point of this hotel for me was the roof terrace and gardens, which offered a magical, tranquil space in the heart of a busy city. It was lovely for both breakfast on the terrace overlooking the rooftops of Rome, or for a quiet pre-dinner drink in the rooftop garden listening to the birds cheeping rather than traffic roaring (as is often the problem in many other city hotels). We were a small group ranging from 10 years of age to 78 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Thank you to all the staff at The Inn!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. We were thrilled to read that you and the entire group enjoyed our structure, the roof terrace and the room. We do apologize for any inconvenience that the outside renovations had caused you. These were only temporally and lasted only for a week.

On behalf of the whole team, we hope to be able to see you all again if you plan to visit Rome again.

My husband and I spent a weekend in Rome and we are glad we chose the inn. This boutique hotel is charming and perfectly situated close to the forum, Fontana di Trevi, coliseum....and the hotel has it's own amazing ruins. The views from the rooftop are spectacular and eating breakfast here is the perfect Italian cliche. Everyone was wonderful that worked there, Ruby at the front desk will recommend the BEST restaurants and guide you on what to see and visit. If there is one con it would be the breakfast, for the high price you pay I would expect a much more varied breakfast. Other than that it was simply perfect for our Ronan holiday!

We just spent 2 beautiful days at the INN at the Roman Forum.

The INN has only 12 rooms that are decorated in an eclectic combination of antique and modern furniture; ours was big and very functional and very clean.
The INN is not only 100 meters from the Forum, but it has it own share of ancient artifacts arranged trough out the premises.

We prefer to say that we were not close to the Roman Ruins, we were in the ruins.
The breakfast is served at the roof top patio looking at the ruins or inside the lobby/living room also at the top, same in the early evening with drinks and canapés served.

The whole INN is so comfortable that some times you think about staying in the facilities and escape the whole hoards of tourists outside.

With the location and design of the INN, you get the impression that you are getting into your own private apartment not a hotel.

All the employees at the lobby as well as the butlers were terrific.

What a luxury and distinctive gem in the centre of it all. Looking forwar to our next visit

We highly recommend the INN to everyone that likes luxury, location, service in a very intimate way

Room Tip: The whole INN is very nice

My husband and I returned yesterday from a 6 night stay at this hotel. After reading a couple of reviews, before we went, the one room we were hoping not to get was 103- guess which one we got?! And it was beautiful. It's really important to remember that the hotel is situated in a little cobbled side street amidst tightly packed typical buildings. If you want a hotel that has open space around it, then book one of the modern monstrosities that are visible on the train journey from the airport just outside Rome. This hotel is right next to the splendour that is the Roman Forum and a 10 minute slow stroll to the Colisseum. It's quite a small hotel and is definitely boutique in style and deserves every one of it's 5 stars. The staff are attentive and helpful but never intrusive. They helped make our stay comfortable and memorable. Room 103 is a deluxe room with a huge bed, a fireplace and tasteful, artistic decor including a wonderful oversized, orange lampshade over the bed. There is an extra desk area which offered space to dress and put suitcases without them being in the way in the bedroom area. The closet wasnt huge but was perfectly adequate. We felt the room was spacious annd luxurious. If I'm being a bit bit picky, I would agree that the bathroom sealant needed a bit of attention- it was slightly mouldy in places and the bath panel needed attention. However, I have no doubt that these things will be fixed. The jacuzzi was fantastic- it was very welcome after long days walking around Rome. Breakfast was served on the upper floor terrace area and was always plentiful and appetising. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would also jump at the chance to go back. Amazing.

My husband and I stayed for four nights during our recent trip to Rome. We had a beautiful and spacious room, well decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly but discrete and non-intrusive, but with many recommendations for fabulous local eateries if asked. The rooftop views are lovely and I'll genuinely miss eating my breakfast looking over the Roman roof line.
The hotel is tucked away on an old cobble stoned lane and easily missed. Don't be deceived by the outside (this comment goes for ALL the places in this area) - by law they are not able to adjust the outside/add signage etc - therefore everywhere looks very 'ancient' - however, the inside is beautiful, clean and welcoming.
During the one occasion that we had a problem (the lights in the hallway of our room blew and blew the lights in the bathroom) - help was on hand in minutes and dealt with quickly.
Because it is tucked away, the hotel is quiet and comfortable but you are less than 5 mins walk from the Metro (which is fabulous, clean, easy to navigate and cheap) and metres away from fabulously authentic Roman restaurants. You are 10mins walk from the Colosseum, 20mins walk from the Termini station, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and 20mins Metro ride from the Vatican. We took ages deciding which hotel/area to stay in for our four day trip to Rome. We were absolutely not disappointed. A fabulous stay. Thank you so much.

I only stayed a night but wish I'd stayed longer. Gorgeous decor, very friendly and accommodating staff and a good location near the ruins. Don't let the back streets put you off...it's very easy to get to and from day and night. Love the free snacks with afternoon drinks (special thanks to the bar man who helped me choose the delicious cocktail), the roof top terrace, gardens and breathtakingly gorgeous room #402. I liked that during the online booking process I was given other options (eg tours) that I could book at the same time - so efficient if you're busy and not staying long. The staff are very efficient and made the logistics of my stay very very easy.

I never stay at a hotel twice but I'm coming back here when I visit Rome next.
