We stayed in this flat for 6 months and loved it. The ambience of the rooms made us feel very special. It is basically a very large room with a spacious living and dining area at entry. A mezzanine bedroom was roomy and comfortable with a sizeable ensuite off to one side. Off the dining area was a small kitchen with modern cooking facilities and off the opposite side of the dining area was a bathroom with a decent-sized bath. A small balcony at the rear gave extra light and was lined with plants which gave a very "green" feel. The furnishings and decorations have been very carefully chosen to give a luxurious but understated feel to the rooms. Antique furniture, paintings, comfortable lounge furnishings all help you feel at home but all more elegant than we are used to. Windows and doors allowed a cool breeze to keep rooms at a pleasant temperature but reverse cycle aircon was available for those very hot summer days and the colder winter nights.
The location was excellent as it is in Trastevere, so is very close to shops, restaurants and within walking distance of many sights you would want to visit in Rome: the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, the Forum, the Vatican, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Piazza Venezia. . . We regularly walked to the centre of Rome. And if we didn't want to walk or had to travel farther, it was a very short distance to both bus and tram stops as well as a taxi stand. The Tiber River is a hop, skip and a jump from the flat and in summer the access to the markets and restaurants that line the river is very easy. If we have the opportunity of returning to Rome, we would love to stay here again.
