Stayed at this hotel 25th may for 3 night. The hotel room had ants crawling every where and reception could not careless....
lady on reception was very unhelpful, she didnt inform us of breakfast times or where breakfast would be served.
Beds rock hard and rooms very basic. Bathroom shabby and ant infested.
One evening returned to find no towels in room, was told laundry had not brought any and again reception didnt do anything to help.
The only good think is they do provide a free shuttle in the evening to a lovely restaurant.

After being told that this was a three star hotel close to the metro and with easy access to the city center we were highly dissappointed to find that this hotel was situated in the middle of the ghetto! To get to the center of rome it required getting a 6 stop bus to the nearest metro and then the metro to various areas around rome. The surrounding area was made up of graffitti and rubbish, not exactly the most romantic setting! The room itself felt more like a prison cell, with an iron shutter on the balcony, dirty walls, cracked walls and bathroom tiles, broken light switches, a generous coating of dust on most surfaces and an empty mini bar, no safe, a very fragile wardrobe and a severe lack of atmosphere. On arrival the receptionish was more interested in conversations on the phone than us, she neglected to give us any information as to where are room was, where breakfast was to be served and at what times and when asked about the bus she didnt mention that you cant actually buy a ticket on the bus you have to pre pay for in at a booth which we couldnt find. This was not only embarressing when we tried to get on the bus but meant we couldnt actually get into rome.

I would not recomment this hotel to anyone, especially if you intended to make the most of the romantic atmosphere of ancient rome.

ok lets go ill keep it as simple as possible.
we have just got back late last night from this hotel / citybreak to Rome 18/04/2012
food for breakfast its simple basic just a few rolls /cakes cereal juices tea and coffee machine not fresh some cheese / and ham thats about it but quality is not bad.
the rooms where just basic and averidge no chairs in room just the beds and not a bad shower facility again very basic there is no air conditioning the shower head is very lowly placed so you would have to hold it in your hand to operate it. the plug sockets all have 3points european but you can get a cheap adaptor for 1.00 euro from the supermarket next door ( the staff were helpful at the hotel)
the guy in the restaurant was very polite and helpful.
there is a pizza bar and very nice supermarket
as I was with my wife and 2 year old son I do not recommened this hotel at all as far as location goes. its not anywhere near the centre of Rome unlike the sales pitch we where given.
once the plane lands at the airport a leonardo express to termini station which is the centre of Rome which is 14.00 euros per person/ then you take a metro which is only 1.00 euro for 75minutes you must validate all tickets for the train and metro/bus which had very few lifts but so many stairs to climb again because we had a childs buggy made it very difficult how a disabled person would use this I have no idea. at the end of the line line A station called Anaglinia. you have to wait approx 15 minutes depending time of the day for a 507 bus which takes you to the hotel which is approx 5 to 6 stops ask the driver not that they are helpful !!! you cant really stay out late otherwise be prepared for expensive taxis. Rome it self was an Amazing experience. some much to see so much to do the ice creams pizza pasta all delicious but just be vary of the various touts all over Rome selling fake goods I would say. just like any Country be careful of how you travel and stay to the main roads where most of the people are. just bear in mind I do not recommend this hotel for familie with small children at all !!!

Room Tip: the room we were given had a balacony was on the south side I think get in early for your breakfast.

We stayed at the hotel Arcadia in January when on a 4 night break in Rome as part of a cheap last minute travel deal. I had read some bad reviews on trip advisor after booking the deal so was slightly wary of what we would find but I would definetley recommend this hotel for people wanting to see Rome on a budget. The hotel is a bus and metro journey from the centre of Rome, but at €2 pp each way you can't complain! The buses are very regular and if you miss it at the stop outside the hotel you can walk around the block and still make it in time! The staff were very friendly and helpful, answered all our queries. The room was clean and tidy, everything in working order. The breakfast is quite basic but enough to set you up for the day. The supermarket and pizza shop next to the hotel are ideal for food when back from a long day sightseeing. The hotel was very quiet for our first few days but when more people arrived in the week you could hear tv's and talking from other rooms, but not enough to disturb us. The electricity cut out the morning of our departure but was fixed within about 20 minutes. It was a pleasant stay on a budget, would definitely recommend and stay again, don't let bad reviews put you off if you are looking for somewhere to put your head down after seeing Rome, if looking for 5* luxury, this place isn't for you!
