this a very good budget hotel for the center of Rome. Ten minutes walk to coliseum, about 15 to pantheon and spanish steps and 5 minutes to termini. The breakfast included is very good and the wifi generally works and was free. The second night we were upgraded to an ensuite which are better than the shared toilet rooms as the shared rooms are near the main street so a little bit noisy. The staff are very friendly and help in any way they can. I see no reason why not to reccomend this hotel for budget travellers.

My husband, 20-year old daughter and I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks. Extremely kind and professional staff. Breakfast was great with buffet style offerings of cold meat/cheese tray, hard rolls, pastries, coffee/hot chocolate, 3 kinds of cereal, and hard-boiled eggs. You could have as much as you wanted. Recommended several local good restaurants. Rooms and bathrooms are small but adequate, very clean. Would definitely recommend for budget travelers.

When the cab driver dropped us off he said we'd chosen a great hotel and he wasn't wrong. 5 minutes walk to the train station and only ten minutes from the Colosseum Nice bars and restaurants just a stones throw away. The staff were all really warm and friendly and gave us a map on arrival and lots of good advice. Breakfast was all you could eat - cereals, breads, pastries, cheese, meats etc and great coffee obviously. The hotel was spotless and really nicely decorated. Our room was small but had everything we needed, again, it was clean, warm and nicely decorated. Don't expect a view because of where the hotel is situated - on a side street surrounded by buildings but we only went back to the hotel to sleep. I would definitely recommend the Saturnia and can't wait to return. You won't need a wake up call, the bells of Santa Maria Maggiore will do that at 7am which just added to my wonderful Rome experience.

This hotel is a real gem, located close to the Colusseum, many shops and restaurants, only 5 minutes walk from the Termini, and a slightly longer walk to the Vatican..

The room was nice, a good size and traditionally decorated, and a really great bed, firm and comfortable.

The staff were friendly always saying good morning or hello, welcoming and helpful with advice, even giving us a map of the local area and some basic directions to get us started. Breakfast was a great selection of fresh fruit, pastries, breads, cereals .
I would definitely stay again .

Excellent service at this hotel, delicious breakfast, big choice of food, very helpful staff. I expected much worse room, but it turned out really fine.
You can judge by my photo!
Hotel is in a great location maybe 5 minutes walking from Colosseo and Vittorio Emanuelle. I highly reccomend it.

I didnt expect much from a 2* hotel, just a clean comfortable room and friendly service, but I was disappointed.

Negatives
-Room was in the middle of being renovated. There was plaster on the walls and part of the door frame was missing (however the room was clean)
-For 2 days, they continued renovations in the hallway outside our room during the day (banging on walls etc). At one point, a guy knocked on our door and came into our room to inspect what needed to be renovated.
-Bed was extremely uncomfortable and I could feel all the springs. They also made the bed with a top sheet and something resembling a table cloth. A blanket was in the cupboard which we used, but it looked unclean.
-Room had a shower and bidet, but no toilet. The room didnt have a bathroom - the shower was literally at the end of the bed and all a part of the same room - weird.
-The hotel staff had limited english and didnt have much knowledge of the local area.
-It was advertised that there was free wifi, however we were told only 1 hour per day was free and after that is was about 5 Euro for a few hours. Also, the wifi on our floor didnt work and we had to go into the lobby to use it. At one point the cleaner was mopping the floor in the lobby and she made me get up from my table and wait while she mopped underneath.
-There was free breakfast which included stale bread and croissants. Later in the day I saw the croissants on a plate uncovered which explained why they were stale.

Positives
-They let us have a late check out (at 6pm)
-Towels were big

I would NOT recommend this hotel. The location was ok, but in hindsight I would stay closer to the river in future.

Dear Madam,

first of all we apoligise for all problems created you during your stay in Hotel Saturnia. I'll try to aswer all your points but i wont find excuses:
- we were rennovating our Hotel during your stay (now we finished) because every year we repaint the walls, usually without noises but unfortunally not for you. For this reason we invite you in a double room private bathroom rennovated for a next week-end on request;
- we excuse about our guy invasion;
- we will change mattresses in the room you've just stayed;
- the room you booked, as per your voucher, was a double room shared bathroom . The floor you've slept was our floor with all double room shared bathroom (4 rooms shares same bathroom), the cheapest we have and as written on this voucher in room you only have sink and bidet. But us upgrade in room 204 there is also shower;
- about our breakfast, our english and our wi-fi we'll work to give a better service according to our standard.
Always at your disposal.
Riccardo Latour
