Decided to book a last minute trip to Rome, and at first had a hard time finding a guide book recommended hotel in a good location at a reasonable price. Luckily, we came across this hotel on-line and although there were mixed reviews, we decided to go for it! We weren't as lucky as one of the other reviewers to get the 70 euros/night rate — we paid 117 euros/night, but still felt it was an excellent value. First off, location, location, location! Very close to Vatican City as well as many cafes, restaurants and shopping. At first a little hard to find as signage is minimal, but once we got to the correct address (taxi dropped us off one-block away), we were buzzed right in. Elevator is fairly small, but we usually travel light so didn't have any issues and one trip up got us to the hotel on the fourth floor. Hotel is actually one floor of what looked to be a residential apartment building, with approx. 8 rooms or so. Hotel staff greeted us and got us situated. Room was spacious for European standards and more importantly, clean! I would suggest bringing your own toiletries as although provided, quality is subpar. Breakfast was delivered at requested time, always way more than we could eat — coffee, juice, toast, pastries. Overall we enjoyed our 6 nights in Rome and at this property — highly recommend for a solid 3 star hotel in a great location at a very reasonable price!

Room Tip: Keep some Euros handy as they collect a separate tax that wasn't included in our on-line rate...

Arrived and were given a warm welcome by the staff , clean , light and airy lovely room. they have hair dryer, kettle , bidet , massaging shower , large TV, fridge , safe , free wifi , etc. Staff will ask you what time would you like your breakfast delivered and he will serve on time in the morning at your room. The view from our room was fantastic. We could see the Vatican city while having breakfast. No restaurant in the hotel. It wasn't 5 stars hotel but the reason I give 5 stars is because we had a lovely stayed here with no problem and the room was exceeded our expectation. Brill location , 5 mins walk to the metro. 10 mins away from st peters. close to the shops and restaurants. We will definitely return if we are going to Rome again

Room Tip: on the coner

Booked months ago, read this site's reviews night before travelled and started to panic. Told husband wouldn't stay if it reflected the negative comments......it didn't. Yes it is a floor of old building which now comprises residential apartments, offices and this accommodation. The old atmospheric lift worked every time. It's a series of rooms, I guess 8 max across 2 floors. Room clean, neat and tidy, 4 poster bed and quality bedding, state of the art tv, windows and shutters recently replaced. Bathroom fittings, bath, washbasin, toilet and bidet, all new, tiled floor, decor basic but very functional. They take your order for continental breakfast, orange juice, tea or coffee, croissants (and not just plain but chocolate and apricot as well) deliver it on a trolley at your chosen time. Towels changed daily and all this for 70 euros per night......as I said 'it does what it says on the tin'.

6th visit to Rome for 6 nations rugby weekend. 1st time staying this side of the Tiber, less than 5 mins to Vatican Museum, 6 minutes to St Peter's Square, local restaurants packed with locals in the evening, 2 course meals both nights with wine for husband 45 and 40 euros respectively before tip.....as Arnie said 'I'll be back'.

+ About 5 minute walk from underground(metro line A) Ottaviano
+ 5 minute walk from Vetican (St Peter's basilica + Sistine Chapel)
+ Free Wi-Fi
+ It was a positive for me, might only interest people who like Indian food, there was a Indian restaurant 'Shanti' at walkable distance from the hotel

- Very small Rooms, reception, corridor, everything seems to be cramped
- Stale croissant for breakfast everyday

I came back to rome with my in laws and the location was perfect only being a few steps away from the Vatican. Rooms were clean and tidy and staff very helpful. You even have breakfast brought to your room at your requested time. We thought this hotel was excellent value for money.
