“Great first time in Rome and a truly lovely place to stay”
Reviewed June 28, 2012 via mobile

I'm not a regular reviewer of places etc however, thoroughly enjoyed this place. As ive seen in many reviews "after reading the reviews I was a little worried about staying here" but was extremely satisfied with our stay and with the service they provide. Breakfast delivered EVERY morning, just made my 30th birthday treat all the more special. Made full use of the FREE wifi and would defiantly recommend, staff friendly and very helpful even if English was limited-they tried their very best.

The location of this hotel is truly excellent. Just a few minutes from the Vatican and in easy walking distance to the old city. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

We were recommended this hotel by a friend, but when we arrived at the hotel we were told that the room was overbooked. The owner was not very friendly and could not speak good english, he told us he had booked us into another hotel a short distance for the night. We were taken (on foot, with baggage) a good distance away to another hotel, the guy who took us there got into a heated discussion with the man at reception then left us. We were told to come back to our origional hotel the next morning. When we saw the room we had for the night we were horrified! it was like staying in a hostel! the toilet was in the shower! Crazy! then we were given a voucher and a map to a cafe for breakfast (Croissant and coffe). The next morning when we had to treck back to our hotel, no apologies, no offer of compensation just a bad attitude!! It is near the Vatican (approx 3min walk) and the room is clean. The breakfast is nothing as they said it was nor did we get the complimentary bottle of wine or snacks we were supposed to on arrival! Overall it was a bad start to a well deserved weekend away in Rome! My advise would be to contact this hotel if you choose to stay to make sure your room is available! But do not expect customer service. We also had a taxi booked back to the airport and asked if they could call to confirm, the owner said he had a taxi driver that would take us, I asked how much? he said 45 Euro I told him ours was 35 Euro and he said NO he would not match the price! So again, no customer service or compensation for the overbooking! Sandra from Ireland

Room Tip: It's on the 4th Floor so you have to use an intercom for the guy to come down and let you in. T...
