This budget hotel exceeded our expectations in every way-- clean, efficient room, ample good breakfast, and an owner and 2 daughters always there to help in any way. Located about 400 yards from the busiest entrance to the main train station in an old area of small hotels and restaurants. There are always tourists pulling suitcases on the sidewalks, so one feels completely safe at night. Central Metro station 450 yards. Rail station has express trains to both the airport and the cruise ship port. It couldn't be better.

Bathroom was less than clean upon arrival including long hair on the sink and on the toilet (They were not mine as my hair is super short and nobody else entered my room while I was there.) My room overlooked a somewhat noisy street. It was not too noisy on Saturday or Sunday morning but was super noisy on Monday morning. A/c was inoperable the first night in spite of the temperature of 82 degrees F and since I couldn't leave my window open at night (see aforementioned comment on the noisy street) it was pretty hot in my room the first night. Found out that I had to request the remote control for the A/C from the front desk (not sure why they didn't offer it to me at check-in). The shower here worked well. It had good pressure and temperature. The bed was firm but comfortable. The size of the room was larger than average in Italy.

Hotel is close to Termini station.
So, it is very convenient to use metro or bus.
But if you want to go to Trevi Fountain or Piazza Navona via walk, it is very tired.

The room is a little old and clean.

But I couldn't control the air conditioner.
So I felt the cold at the night.
And fan in the bathroom makes so much noise.

My husband and I travelled with our 4 kids and we booked for 2 triple rooms. Hotel Maryelen was a pleasant surprise in area of Termini Station. The rooms were clean, with good AC, and hotel staff warm and accommodating. Breakfast was limited though, but that was alright, since with the low room rates you shouldn't expect a banquet. The hotel was 2 blocks from Termini Station so it was advantageous on our part since we used the train mostly in commuting around and going to Florence. Termini area does not sleep and decent restaurants are open almost 24 hours. It was also a no hustle trip to the airport. We could have taken the Leonardo Express but opted to hire a van since there were 6 of us. We were happy with at stay at Hotel Maryelen.

Do not expect too much from this hotel. It is close to Termini station, so it is very convenient for tourists. The front desk people were friendly as well. The area is a sketchy at night time. Room had a balcony which was nice, but overall very poor lighting.
