I took my son for a five day stay here and Angel Hotel was ideal, within easy walking distance of both the Vatican and the bridges to cross the Tiber we walked everywhere. The bus stop is just around the corner making further to reach sights easily reached. The Hotel and area both felt safe and were clean. There are a few coffee shops, cafes and restaurants right outside and a co op for convienience. The reception staff spoke good English and where friendly and helpful with daily maid service. The only complaint I have is that the pillows where awful so we woke up with a headache! For the price I would definately recommend Angle Hotel a great find in a great city.

Awful. It was disgusting. Bedding was stained and dirty. Towels weren't clean. Walls need paint. No tv or phone. The room was small. But the cost was cheap so you get what you pay for. Not too bad if only for a night or two.

We found our stay here very pleasant and the staff were wonderfully accommodating and helpful. The location was ideally situated, just a short walk from Vatican City, Spanish Steps and with most of the other tourist attractions easily accessible. The hotel itself is a beautiful old roman building, with thick walls, marble staircases and tall ceilings. There was no breakfast room, but we were helpfully advised by staff to eat at the local coffee shop by the river, which was lovely.

The hotel represents very good value and we would definitely stay here again.

Spent 2 midweek nights at this hotel (were there for Wednesday Papal Audience). Nice solid hotel.

Hotel arranged for transfers from Fiumicino Airport for 49 euro which is about a 35 min drive.

Check in and receptionist was smooth. Reception only require to see your passports to complete their forms. We did not need to leave passports with reception.

Room was on 4th floor. There is an old style lift which will hold 2-3 people only. Doubleroom was average size with large bed with nice clean bathroom. No fridge. Had no issues with theft (but bought locks for our suitcases just in case).

Hotel was a 15 min walk to Vatican City; 10 min walk to Spanish Steps; 13 min walk to Trevi Steps, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

Plenty of restaurants, cafes, eateries on same street. Hotel has no restaurant. Can use internet at sister hotel (Sant Angelo Hotel) 1 minute walk down the road. They have friendly receptionist too.

Room rate was OK - 209 euro for 2 nights. Booking online was easy.

Would stay here again and was relieved to find some of the negatives raised by fellow trip advisors were unfounded.

The hotel is reasonably priced taking into account its location. The room was clean, good size, the bathroom was big. The location is excelent and we walked everywhere. It is a very ritzy area and we felt safe on the streets even at 2am ( 3 females without a male companion). The receptionists were very friendly and informative, we never even had to use the services of the tourist's info center. I highly recomend this place and would come back again.

We booked this hotel for 1 night prior to joining a tour group in Rome. We heard (from TripAdvisor) that it had some problems with thieves, and once we checked in we realized why. It was obvious that our room had been broken into before - the door frame was mangled and I could push it open without much force at all, even when it was 'locked'.

I called down to the front desk and said we would not stay in that room - someone out there knows how to get in without a key! The receptionist came up a few minutes later to investigate, and she immediately switched us to another room.

Besides that, the hotel is clean and rooms are large compared to other 2-star hotels we stayed in.

Do not expect a big room or a design bathroom. Hotel is well situated (10 minutes walking from Piazza Spagna or Vatican City), clean and quiet. Receptionist was friendly and compared with other hotels in Rome price was good (59 euros). If you return to the hotel after 21:00 you will have to go to another hotel in the same street to get your room key back.
