Centrally located, but in a quiet area, this small, family-run hotel is an excellent choice. Smart bedrooms with very well equipped modern bathrooms, a/c, good breakfast and charming, helpful staff. We will definitely be using it again and it should be top of the discerning traveller's list, when in Rome.

We have stayed in the hotel for the first week in July. Two brothers are extremely helpful during our first visit to Rome. They have arranged our trips to Pisa and Pompepi, and provided us with very useful tips to walk around the neighborhood. The hotel is very nice, clean and safe, and is close to Spanish steps and park. We have had wonderful time to stay in the hotel, and will definitely go back again when we visit Rome in the future.

In the midst of this bustling city is the quiet calm of the family-run Hotel Golden. Although the rooms are small, they are elegantly furnished and more than comfortable. The family does an excellent job of taking care of the guests' needs, and the brothers who man the front desk are welcoming, helpful, and fun to talk to. As well, their mother prepares a lovely breakfast spread each morning. The Hotel Golden is in a great location, too. We were able to walk to all the spots we wanted to visit and enjoy a view of Rome's lively streets while we were exploring the neighborhood. There's so much to see and do in Rome, it exhausted us, and we were glad to come home to this little oasis each night. Thank you, Marco, for making us feel so at home in your home!

We just returned from a trip to Italy (June 16-25) and had the pleasure of staying at the Rome Hotel Golden (84 Via Marche) 4 of the nights of our trip. The hotel is owned by a family and all the members work there which gives it a very homey feel. Marco and Guiseppe were particularly friendly and helpful both during our trip and also before the trip. I emailed with Guiseppe many times before we arrived to ask some questions and his advice about certain things and he was very fast replying back to my questions and also went out of his way for me to look for a ferry schedule since we were going to the amalfi coast for part of our trip. Both Marco and Guiseppe speak excellent English too.

The rate was EXCELLENT! They had an internet special going on which is unheard of in the summer in Rome. We stayed there for 135 euros per night which included a DELICIOUS breakfast every morning of all sorts of breads, jams and spreads, pastries, yogurts, meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, coffee, juices, etc. My husband said the coffee was his favorite on our trip.

The hotel itself is great. Its walking distance from everything (Rome is very walkable anyway). It is about 1.5 blocks from Via Veneto and just a short walk (about 10 mins) to Piazza Di Spagna (Spanish Steps), Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain), and Piazza del Popolo.

The other excellent thing about the hotel is that is is in a quiet area so no noise at all at night or in the morning. However, there are some really great restaurants 1-2 blocks around the hotel. We ate at San Marco which was EXCELLENT - a cute, trendy pizza/pasta winebar type place, Pomodorino (also pizza - more casual), and there was another recommendation from Marco that we didnt end up making it to called Sardegna which looked very nice. There is also a coffee bar/snack shop right on the corner.

The rooms are great too. Typical Rome size (smaller) but very clean, very nice bathroom with a great shower and great water pressure (usually in europe its a trickle!). The bed was comfy and everything was very clean. We stayed in a typical room and then one night Guiseppe gave us the honeymoon suite for the same rate as our regular room. It was big and really nice too!

Lastly, the hotel has free internet access at the front desk. This is great for quick emails home and also checking out restaurants or any info about sites etc.

overall i would highly recommend the hotel golden and we will definitely stay there again when we are in Rome.

This hotel has been totally renovated, so it was like staying in a brand new place. It is right off Via Venato, and each morning, we opened our shutters to see the face of Roman Emporor Bellisario right across the street on the old Roman wall that encircled Rome two thousand years ago. The service and breakfast buffet were excellent, and we have never before stayed in a hotel that gave us such personal attention.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at Hotel Golden in late May. The hotel is 'as advertised' regarding all of the positive comments you will find on Trip Advisor - this was why we booked and the hotel met or exceeded our expectations. What really set the hotel apart was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Guiseppe, Marco, and the rest of the family were focused on ensuring that we had a comfortable stay and they provided great advice and directions.

The room was clean, comfortable and attractively decorated. The bathroom was bigger then we expected. Make sure you bring an alarm clock as the room did not have one. We found the location to be very convienent. The breakfast was more than sufficient. If you are expecting a big American breakfast of bacon and eggs you will be dissapointed. It is a more European breakfast. There was cereal, rolls, cheese, yogurts, meats, fruit, breakfast pastries, hard boiled eggs and more. We never left hungry! Hotel Golden really added to our enjoyment of Rome and we would certainly stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Golden for three nights and loved it. The rooms are nicely decorated, clean, nice size, fairly large bath. The breakfast each morning was wonderful, nicely presented and fresh. It was in a great location--near Via Veneto where there were lots of choices of restaurants. But the best discovery was a huge beautiful park practically across the street from the hotel. It was a wonderful way to recoup your energy after a long day of touring. It reminds me a little of Central Park in New York--just not as big. This charming small hotel is family run and they are so accommodating. Wonderful suggestions, tips, always spoke to our cab drivers every time we wanted a taxi. Great place to stay--highly recommend it!
