My husband and I stayed for four days and enjoyed every single moment we spent at the Hotel Golden. The location was excellent, with easy access to the sites we wanted to visit, as well as, convenient access to bus and subway services. Like others have written, while the hotel is wonderful, the staff is even better. We were sorry to leave and my husband is already discussing a return trip!

Room Tip: Junior suite is very spacious and could easily accommodate 3 adults.

This was our first trip to Rome and we could not have chosen a better hotel. We were close enough to walk to everything! We were 15 minutes from Trevi and 30 from the Colosseum. The best parts were the family and the service. They arranged for us to be picked up at the airport and as soon as we walked in, Giuseppe made us one of their famous "magic maps" so we could find our way around. The room was straightened every day and we loved having clean towels to come back to. We met the rest of the family during our stay (6 nights) and they were all just as helpful with any questions we had. Breakfast was wonderful (especially the french toast!). If we had a day we had to hit the road early, Marco brought us a tray of goodies the night before. I just can't say enough about how welcome they made us feel. WHEN we go back, we will definitely stay there again.

We just spent four nights at the Hotel Golden while staying in Rome. The Marco and the entire family are very hospitable and make you feel like you are home. Our room was excellent. It was roomy and the shower larger than most in Europe. The breakfast was very good.

We felt very safe in the hotel as the family knew who we were and we were buzzed in and out. Our key was left at the desk when we departed so we had no need to be concerned with our key being lost. No one could get into the hotel without identifying themselves. Family always manned the desk. I slept well knowing we were secure in our surroundings.

Marco and his brother were also very helpful in advising us the best way to get from place to place. We were able to use taxis, the bus, and the metro system with their help. The location is in a very nice area and we were able to access the sites easily. They arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel and at the end of our stay, they arranged a transport to the cruise port for us.

We would highly recommend staying at the Hotel Golden. It is a home away from home!!!

This was our 2nd stay at the Hotel Golden and there is NO other place to stay when in Rome. Being family owned and operated gives the traveler to Rome the greatest experiences possible. The daily breakfast was always prepared deliciously and we felt like we were family in every aspect of our stay.

My brother and I had a great experience at Hotel Golden in Rome. It's a family owned hotel and it shows in the great customer service we received. The room was adequate for two, with a desk and table and hutch to hang up your cloths. The shower was large with a Hugh shower head. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel has free wifi and does serve breakfast. The hotel is close to several good restaurant, bus stop, trolley stop and taxi stand. You can take the bus to the coliseum in 10 minutes for 1.50 Euro. The trolley takes you by the Pantheon and to Vatican City. The front desk will provide you a map and show you how to get to the various sites. If you are looking for a centrally located hotel with great service, you won't to better than Hotel Golden.

We spent 3 nights at this family run hotel. Although hidden away in a 2nd storey building, the location is superb - a 2 min walk to Via Venetto, 10min to rail station, and a few mins in the other direction to a huge parkland with scenic views of the city. We could walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, etc. Our room was small with the bed against the wall, but the ensuite was roomy & modern. The dining area was also small, but the hotel was spotless and the service excellent. The 2 brothers whom we met were very helpful with directions and places to eat. When we were leaving, Marco accompanied us down to the street to hail a cab & give directions to the driver. Would stay here again.

Rome was our last stop on our European tour 2013. As far as our hotels, we saved the best for last. This hotel is owned and operated by a very nice family that works very hard to make your stay in Rome pleasant. It is located in a great area of Rome--very safe and quiet residential neighborhood but close to the Via Venetto--a major shopping and restaurant throughfare in Rome. It's also just a short walk from the Spanish Steps and the Piazza del Poppolo. I believe there's a termini (rail) station nearby as well, but we never used it, because Rome is a great city to explore on foot. The hotel staff are fantastic. They really know the city and will make sure that you know all about Rome and how to best get to the places you want to visit. They also provided us with some great restaurant tips (San Marcos is just down the street and my personal favorite, La Locanda, is only a short jaunt away on via flavia). The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Our room included a spacious bathroom and shower (with very hot water), daily clean towels, and internal temperature control. Best of all, they make you breakfast every morning, and I don't mean the croissant and coffee breakfast that you'll get anywhere else in Europe. They make you fresh omelettes, french toast, deli meats, breads, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, juice, and even ice water. We could not have asked for better accommodations, regardless of price. You can pay a whole lot more in Rome and still not get a more pleasant stay. I will 100% come back to Hotel Golden when I'm next in Rome!
