We stayed here for three nights and it was a very nice place. Better than two stars! Very good breakfast, good location and very clean. The family is very friendly and make our stay very enjoyable.

Hotel Golden was a fantastic experience. The hotel was emaculate, smoke-free, and very homey. It is a small, charming place to stay. A very nice family runs the hotel. The two brothers behind the counter speak English perfectly. They were helpful, friendly, considerate, and easy-going. Breakfast in the mornings was terrific including the fine coffee. Using my laptop with wi-fi was without cost and a breeze. Also the hotel is in a great location, near the beautiful park surrounding the Borghese Gallery. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the Spanish Steps as well. Personally, I want to go back; no question about it!

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Golden for the first 3 days of our trip to Italy and were very pleased with our overall experience. The owners of the hotel were extremely helpful in making our stay in Rome very enjoyable. They recommended restaurants, made museum reservations, and provided excellent directions. In addition, the whole family was very friendly and encouraged us to practice our limited Italian. The room was a standard double which was very clean with a large modern bathroom. The breakfasts were the best we had during our trip to Italy and there was quite a variety of food available. As noted in other comments the breakfast room was somewhat small but this encouraged interactions with the other guests which was nice. The location of the hotel was great, very close to the Borghese park and within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the metro. We would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 day trip to Rome. We were very impressed with this hotel. On arriving we were given maps and directions of how to get around Rome. We were also given several great recommendations on restaurants. Some of the earlier reviews talked about small rooms - we were actually very suprised how large our room actually was. The buzzer system was not a problem at all for us. The staff were very friendly indeed. The hotel was spotless in every regard.

On our last day, we had to leave before breakfast, but we were supplied with ample food to allow us to eat when we arrived at the airport.
All in all, I would stay here again, and would recommend it to others travelling to Rome.

We had originally booked this hotel for 3 nights but decided before we left the states to stay there 4 nights. The hotel made arrangements for us to be picked up at the airport and delivered back to the airport very early on our day of departure. It was so comforting to have these 2 problems solved for us before we even got to Rome. Staying there that 4th night was especially good because by then we knew where we were and spent the last day and night enjoying Rome instead of carting our luggage to a hotel closer to the airport.

The Hotel Golden is located on a side street near the Via Veneto. It was a nice walk "downhill" to the Piazza Barberini but we soon discovered a less hilly way to get back to the Hotel Golden.

The rooms were very clean, the breakfast was more than we had hoped for in a B & B in Italy.

Guiseppi and Marco were very helpful in giving us information on when to go to the various attractions we wanted to see.

We were told of 2 restaurants in the area that they recommended and both lived up to our expectations.

Thanks to the Hotel Golden and its staff we enjoyed our first visit to Rome.

We stayed here for two nights from Sept.18 to 20th and found the hotel to be very well situated for our first visit to Rome . The family all seemed to be involved in the running of the Hotel which was comforting and although the door system seemed to be a problem for others we did not find it bothersome . In fact in the interest of security it was a positive.
Our room was right next to reception and the only noise we experienced was from the inconsiderate guests returning late after a night out . They obviously did not realise that their voices carried so much in an otherwise quiet area. The room was large and the bed was very clean and comfortable. Okay the bathroom was a little small but everything we needed was there . The main problem we had was the Breakfast room. It was just too small and perhaps the owners could be persuaded to consider some alterations or re-sighting . The breakfast choice was excellent and it seems a shame that people were so cramped when everything else was good. All in all we were quite satisfied with our stay.

we stayed at hotel Golden for 3 days last week. At first I was a bit put off when I saw the front doorway and the buzzer system. The hotel is on the first floor of an old building - but soon realised that many buildings in Rome where very very old also.

The buzzer system was not a problem not even when one night we didnt arrive back to the hotel til 2.15am. The rome 110 was a large clean room - overlooking a street - the window had traditional shutters and the double glazing was very efficient The bathroom was late, with nice toiletries, two white fluffy bathrobes and all the usual bits and pieces.

The beakfast room is very small - however we had breakfast and different times each day and never had any trouble getting a table.

The staff were very efficient but not overly friendly - but then I think that is the way the people in Rome are.

The hotel was not quite as central as I would have liked but once we got our bearings we were just fine. should point out that there is plenty going on around the hotel - lots of nice restaurants - we did owever prefer to be in the centre of the tourist bit - We used the metro to go the Vatian city and also to the Colesseum and we also used the bus a couple of times. The secret is in having a really good clear map - we visited all the major tourist sites and did lots of walking - we had a wonderful time. If anyone has any doubts about Rome - please dont it is a wonderful experience - Enjoy!!
