The hotel meridiana is situated about 400m from the central train station Termini, where the trains and bus shuttles arrive, when you fly in via Rom-Fiumicino Airport. (....we booked the bus shuttle from Terravision online, which was 4€ p.p. and direction. The travel itself was easy and lasts about one hour, due to the traffic in Rome).
The hotel is situated in a dead-end road, so there's no loud traffic going on! The reception is in the first floor, so are the rooms (no idea if further rooms are in the upper floors) Our room had a window, but it ended in the hall-way. It was covered by a blanked and it was possible to cover it in addition by curtains. We didn't care, because we took of the room in the morning and came back late, when it already was dark outside.
When you come back in the evening you get asked when you want to have your breakfast. Because there's no breakfast room or similar, they bring the coffee or tea plus a fresh croissant and crispbread incl. butter and jam to your room. We summarized, that it was good in this way, because beside having this light and typical Italian starter/breakfast gave us the time for dressing up :-)
The room and bathroom was clean (ok, the shower partitioner should be renewed), the towels have been changed every day, so nothing to complain for this price.

It is 3 blocks from the Termini. Easy to find. Care staff is very friendly. The hotel is on the first floor. Every morning they take you breakfast to the room and you can choose Infused, toast, a butter, marmalade, orange juice and croassant. If you pay 5 euros you have internet yhe hole stay in the room (wifi). Room very nice and clean, they change the towels and make the bed every day. Definitely i recommend this hotel. Is very close to the main attractions walking.

Room Tip: Rooms in the first floor in front of the street are very good.

One of the best aspects of the hotel is the location very close to the Termini railway station. However, there was one aspect of the location I didn't like - the fact that the hotel was in a small dark street, but I must say the street seemed pretty safe or at least we didn't see anything unsafe there. The rooms were cosy, clean, quiet and the staff spoke good English (some of them spoke better English than others, though). The breakfast was tasty (though the same food was served every day, which might be boring after several days) and served in the rooms, which was fantastic. On the negative side, the air-conditioning was not included in the price of the room and you have to pay extra for it. We went there in March so it wasn't hot yet. However, in the summer season it might be really hot in Rome, so getting air-conditioning would mean additional costs for the traveller. On the whole, the hotel was good value for money, especially for short stays.

Let's start off w/the good points: pastries, juice & coffee brought to your room in the morning, located near Termini station (having been to Rome before - we only needed 2 nights as stop over to other destination) and large washroom. Have to pay extra for less than efficient air conditionning unit (very loud and only cooled the immediate area where it was located) - not great when it's still in the 30c at night and humid. shared hallway with very noisy neighbours - had to get out of bed and tell them to 'shut up' - sounded like they were moving in-out all night...and for those of you who need to lug up suitcases, the rooms are located on 5-6 floors up (no elevator)...but the manager is accomodating and will help you out if you have questions concerns... - but I would find another place next time (we arrived late, and had to get up early - barely slept the nights there)

Small tucked away place in a great location! No lift though, so go to the gym and work out before you arrive, or pack light! Lots of places to see around there and lots of places to eat. So close to the train station too so you can arrive from the airport train and walk over.
The rooms do the job and are clean. I got a deal with a breakfast too which is simple but keeps you going. Friendly staff: one who speak more english worked mostly in the afternoon and evening so if you have questions, approach him then. Stayed there on a very tight budget and couldn't afford the extra 10Euro for the air-con. On the hottest night i was there, he offered me the air-con for free. What a dude!

Room Tip: Lower room means less stairs to lug you bags up to!
