We`ve stay here for a week and it was a very pleasant stay, nice, clean, good food. The stuff was great. It was a little far from town center, butt there was a free shuttle to metro station, every hour. The Ciampino Airport is very close.

Arrived for a 3 night stay, booked a suit with jacuzzi bath, added the candles and rose petals and champers etc. . . However sadly disappointed with firstly the bizarre location, when you arrive at Capanelle train station it looks like something out of a nuclear disaster, a deserted hell hole. The area doesn't feel safe with only a couple of questionable restaurants nearby that aren't worth risking a walk to. We made it to the hotel and the reception greeted us. He wasn't helpful at all and left us to carry all our bags up the stairs. The room we thought would surely be lovely . . . Nope. It stank of stale smoke and damp. The bathroom walls were growing mould. The bedroom had plaster falling off the walls. The air con was broken and when you open the window bugs just fly in. Horrible. We told staff and they did not offer a solution nor a discount. Restaurant had no atmosphere and the food was less than average. Pool area was messy and dirty. We checked out and left. Would not recommend a stay here.

Dear Guest,
we want to thank you for your review is helpful, anyway. . We feeling sorry about your complains for the distance and the location as well, but on our web-site it is write where we are, how many km are from the city centre. Usually when someone has complains with the room we change it without any problem, but in your case the hotel was full and we dind't had any possibility to make it.

We hope to welcome back you with the best condition.
Thank you.

All the best

we really enjoyed our stay the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the bar man. The restaurant evening meals were very good and reasonably priced but spoilt a little by being served in the breakfast room, a little more finesse, dressing of the restaurant would of been nice, though it was not warm enough to eat on the terrace. However the quality of the food compensated for this, well done to Pepe the chef!!!

The rooms were spotless and cleaned thoroughly each day. Overall we would book again, but keep eye on prices as these fluctuate hugely!!!

Summary fab hotel, little noisy with aircraft but to be expected with close proximity to the airport.
The shuttle service was superb and a definite plus for us we used this most days.

Room Tip: garden rooms are very pleasant

My mum and I came here in June - what a really lovely place. In Rome itself, it is very muggy, congested and touristy - to come back here or relax for a day or two was the perfect combination!
Nice, clean spacious rooms with their own terraces combined with a lovely pool area made this a wonderful setting. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.
It is out of Rome a bit - a 10 minute train journey from Capannelle station takes you direct into the city for EUR 1.20 a trip - but this was part of the charm. We got to see the old viaducts etc on our journey and stroll through the Italian countryside to and from the station (though a free shuttle service was provided).
The restaurant is nice enough but service is slow. We found a really gorgeous pizzeria just down the road from the hotel with non-touristy prices (i.e. more EUR 6 for a main as opposed to EUR 12 in Rome itself!)
All in all a wonderful place - we are planning to return.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a patio area!

Stayed here as flying out of Ciampino Airport. Due to low price expected a very basic hotel and were pleasantly surprised.

Room and bath were very good and very clean. Pools were good dinner was good if basic but very good value. Breakfast buffet excellent.

Shuttle service to airport and Metro station makes out of town location irrelevant. Overall, we were lucky to have found this place!

We knew we didn't want to stay in the city centre of Rome because we wanted a swimming pool and didn't want to pay a fortune.
We found it very easy to get into the city via the hotel shuttle and Cinecitta metro station. The shuttle took 5-10 mins and the tube took about 20-25 mins. Shuttles were regular and on time. Overall very easy and efficient.
Service in the hotel was generally very good, most of the staff spoke good English (a lot better than our Italian!) but we did encounter one problem when we arrived into Campino airport we'd booked transfers through the hotel and I'd just assumed we could use the phone number I'd seen on the booking confirmation email, but (after finding out what the Italian international code was) this number did not work so we had to fall back on good old Google to find an alternative. This we did and after getting through, someone picked up the phone at the reception desk but did not talk to me, I heard them put the phone down on the desk while they talked to someone else. I waited on the end of the phone for 8 minutes and when it had gone quiet at the other end, decided to hang up and save my money and try again in a few minutes. This was not the best plan, however, as the line was just engaged for a further 15 minutes while the receiver sat on the desk at the hotel! Eventually we got through and the bus came and picked us up 25 minutes later.
Breakfasts were very nice: croissants, cake, bread, cheese, meats, yogurts, cereals, fruit, bacon and eggs and delicious coffee!
One big letdown of the hotel was the lack of drinking water in the rooms. On our first night, we'd had a few drinks in the city and got back and went to bed and both slept badly and woke up absolutely parched, unsure whether we could drink the bathroom water and resorted to paying 1.50 euros for a bottle of sparkling water (no still water available) from the minibar. After that, we knew to bring water back with us in the evening but we felt slightly aggrieved with this.
Another thing we hadn't realised when booking was that the superior upgraded room that we'd treated ourselves to (due to cheap prices!) had no private outdoor area, which standard rooms do have. The room was finished to a very high standard and was very clean but I hadn't realised we had sacrificed the outdoor area for the nicer room.
Overall we were very pleased with our 3 nights here and absolutely loved Rome!

Hotel Piccolo Borgo was perfect for our week holiday in Rome. The exceptional cleanliness of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff and the comfort and size of the room all made for a relaxing holiday.
We wanted a hotel outside of the main city, with a pool, giving us a chance to escape the busy streets once in a while. We used the from shuttle bus to the metro station every day, which then got us into the city centre within half an hour.
I would recommend this hotel for anyone going to Rome for more than a couple of days. Absolutely value-for-money!
