We were underwhelmed by this place maybe because of the expectations set from reading the previous reviews. Our 3 year old enjoyed himself but no more than if he was playing at a free playground. He was mostly interested in the supermarket, moving the gravel up and around using the pipes and turbine screw handles, and the fire engine and pool fountains that dominate the centre area. There were about 50 kids there and all seemed to be aged between 3 and 5. Many of the activites were for older kids and typically had posters with detailed explanations to teach a related enviromental awareness message. I like the concept of interactive activities for children but I feel they are poorly implemented and there are just too few good activities. Also not keen on their charging of both children and accompanying adults! We were charged 7 euro each = 21 euro total. I dont believe the capital outlay for this centre can justify the entrance fee.

Our group had 5 children with an age range of 5 yo down to 1yo, and it was just perfect! There was a separate closed-off no-shoes section just for under 3s, which was great for the baby. All the kiddies had so much fun, running up the spiral, playing with the mirrors, water-play, fire engine and the huge play-kitchen area. We came a 20 minutes early, and there was plenty to do outside as well. With so much to do, the younger kids were exhausted and didn't last the 1:45 playtime limit.
Only two peevs, the safety instructions at the start were only in Italian, and the cafe had only 1 type of juice drink: red orange and not much in way of kid-food.

Our two children - aged 3 and 4 - loved Explora. It was a real tonic for them in between the historic sites and alleyways or Rome. They bounded round the different activities with unending energy and we followed suite. All of us were knackered afterwards! I'd thoroughly recommend this place for anyone with children up to about 8 or 9.

Our kids enjoyed this and appreciated the kid time among so much "adult" sight seeing. A bit sad that we could only be in there for 1 hour 45 min. We knew that going in, but the time goes VERY quickly. They loved the grocery store and bank. Research their entrance times. It looks like it's off the beaten path, but our navigation to us right to it.
