Best Western Blu Hotel Roma

Our recent two night stay at the Best Western Blu Hotel Rome was really nice. We arrived about 9 p.m. and were very jet lagged. The man who checked us in could not have been any more welcoming. The hotel was a little out of the way, but in a lovely residential area, close to a mall with a huge grocery store. We took the bus from Tiburtina train station (I think it was the 409). Our room was very modern and the bed so comfortable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: We stayed in a quiet room facing the courtyeard on the second floor!

My wife, grandson and self have just returned from Rome where we spent 5 nights at this hotel. We were delighted. It is situated in a residential/light business area on the outskirts of the city which in all fairness is a little shabby. Access is easy as it is only about 1k from Tiburtina station and metro. An easy walk. There are numerous eating opportunities within an easy walk of the hotel and we felt perfectly safe walking around at night. The breakfast, staff and room were all excellent. An ideal base for 'doing the sights' at a reasonable price.

We liked the hotel. It was out of the way from all what we wanted to see. To save a little money we would take the subway to Vatican City in the morning and take a cab at night.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious. A lot to choose from.
All in all it was pretty good just a little far from the tourist area.

I received excellent service throughout my entire one week stay.

The breakfast was excellent.

Great location. 5-10 minute walk to the subway.

The hotel was quiet.

All the facilities in the room were great.

Area of hotel was not a concern from a safety aspect.

Room Tip: My room was excellent and quiet. I was able to sleep with the windows open.

We stayed in this hotel for 10 days while on our first family trip to Italy. Based on other reviews we chose this hotel and found them pretty accurate. If you have small children that don't like to walk or complain alot, then this is not the ideal hotel. It was a 10 minute walk to train station or a hop on the bus at the stop across the street. Keep in mind your in Italy. Pack your patience. There was some construction and we missed the bulk of it but I did email the hotel prior to our hotel and they responded which I was very impressed with.
The hotel is located in the suberbs so we were able to walk to the grocery store (which was attached to the mall) and even did our laundry one day. The hotel room itself was fine (big enough for the 4 of us) but there wasn't anywhere for us to hang our towels. They need to invest in some rails. The iron was down the hall and it was frustrating as everything was wrinkled and if the door was locked we had to call down to have it opened, We also found that when we removed the key the room did not stay cool or we think keep the fridge cool. As we were gone the bulk of the day, we didn't leave anything in the fridge that could spoil. At night the cooling system made continuous clicking noises. If you're a light sleeper, beware. I always travel with ear plugs.
The front desk staff was extremely helpful and we appreciated their assistance. My girls enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning and that was appreciated too.
Unfortunately we never ate at the restaurant because our first week there is wasn't open and when it did open, the times did not suit our schedule.
Overall the experience was good and I would recommend this hotel to experienced travellers that are able to adapt well, that can understand their surroundings and only use the hotel room to sleep in.

We had a great experience in our week long stay in Rome. The room was bright and clean. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. One km away from the Tiburtina railway station, we took the buses 409 and 545 to go to the station. The breakfast buffet was well stocked. Overall a great experience!

Our room was located right next to construction. We were awoken by banging hammers about 8 am. We called the reception desk who said they would inform the construction crew and ask them to begin a bit later but that never happened. The reception would also give us different answers to questions we would ask. The internet was terrible as well. The rooms are comfortable but not worth it if you are going to be woken up by construction!!

Room Tip: I would not stay here again unless you do not mind construction noise at 8 am when you are on vacati...
