Stayed here in rome with my fiancee. The place was superb, location great 2 minutes from coliseum, 5 minutes from the metro. Nice cafes and places to eat around near the accommodation. The host Lorenzo was very helpful and really made his guests feel welcome . Giving us maps, telling us which bus to take. Beds nice and comfy, very quiet place, nice and clean. Higly reccomended!!

We arrived in Rome on a rainy night and did not have umbrellas. The owner Lorenzo's son was working that evening and provided us an orientation of Rome. There were also umbrellas to borrow! The rooms here are very clean and spacious for Europe. The breakfast is large and yummy with yogurt and fresh pastries every morning. Lorenzo and his son were very helpful and always willing to make extra accomodations. We had to leave early to catch a train and Lorenzo got our breakfast ready the night before. Downtown Accomodation is priced well given the location and quality of room. It is about two blocks from the Colosseum and walkable to the Pantheon and Campo d' Fiori.

Superb service and outstanding location so close to the colosseum, the monti district and TA top rated restaurants and gelati places. Enjoyed great coffee at the caffe a couple of doors down (though we never worked out how they charged for our 2 cappuccinos, E5, E8 and E10 on consecutive days) which was heavily frequented by locals. Cleaning service was superb and Lorenzo gave excellent service. We had one of back rooms that was nice and cool and quiet. Put this one on top of your b&b list if you are planning on staying in Roma.

If you are looking for value for your money, this place will indeed give you the best bang for your buck.

Location - really easy to get to/from Termini (about 15 minutes walk or 4 minutes walk + one metro ride away). Very close to the main street leading to the Colosseum where a lot of the buses are to take you to the rest of the sights. The building is a bit discrete, but just walk along Via Cavour and look for number 275 on the west side of the street. There actually is a small plaque that reads Downtown Accommodation but it is not at eye level and kind of blends in with the building.

Room - The room itself is no frills. You will not find modern (or even matching) decor, but it is certainly very clean and a good size with high vaulted ceilings. The bed is more firm than soft and was two twins pushed together, as you will find in most of Europe for double rooms. Plenty of outlets scattered around the room. Hair dryer provided. The air conditioner worked perfectly (5 euros extra per night, as stated in the booking). The shower is a bit small like others have mentioned, but again, it's no frills, so as long as that is what you are looking for, then you will be okay. It is right on the main street, but I did not hear anything through the windows or walls at any point.

Service - I will echo other reviewers that Lorenzo provides top-notch service. We arrived late and was still greeted with a smile, a large cold bottle of water, and a map. The room was cleaned daily and our sheets / towels were changed after the second night, even though we only stayed three nights. Breakfast was delivered to your door every morning at your requested time, and included for each person a large pastry, yogurt, coffee, juice, a package of toast with butter and jam, and a hardboiled egg.

All in all, it's basic (and clean) accommodations. You really can't beat the price for the service and location. Would definitely recommend to fellow travelers!

I'm a little getting around to this, but we stayed here in March of 2011 and it was amazing!! The pictures are exactly what it looks like and the owner is awesome!! He greeted us, gave us a map of everything to see and do and gave us breakfast in our rooms each day. Our alarm didn't go off one morning, so he woke us up, knowing we had an early tour time at the Vatican, got us a fresh breakfast, called us a cab while we got ready and stored our bags for us while we were there, even though we had checked out. Talk about great service!!! The location is amazing too!! Walking distance to most places or a short cab ride away if you don't want to walk. We enjoy walking, so we walked to the Travestre one night for dinner, which was 20-30 min walk, but the sites along the way made it all worth it!! The only thing we noticed that could be bothersome to people is that our room was over Via Cavour, which is a louder street. If you like quiet at night, then ask to be on the back side of the property, but really, it's not that loud and it's Rome....what's better than that!! We've recommended this place to friends and will stay here again in a heartbeat if we ever return.

We had a very pleasant stay in this little accommodation. The room was very nice, cool, and quiet due to an added layer of soundproofing on the windows. (We were in a room facing Via Cavour, and at first I was apprehensive that it would be too noisy.) Lorenzo did charge an extra 5 Euros per day for air conditioning to be turned on in our room, but it was worth it to be able to cool down after spending hours each day walking around Rome in the extreme heat of August. Our breakfast was wonderful (very tasty and a complete breakfast, not just a pastry and coffee) each day, and served exactly at the time we ordered it. Lorenzo and his son were very helpful about tips for getting around in Rome, and also they arranged a private driver for us for a reasonable price to take us to our ship when we left. The bathroom was nice but the shower is very small, and an average size person could not bend over to wash feet and legs without turning off the shower and opening the doors first. Also we were told when we made the reservation that we could use a credit card, but Lorenzo really wanted cash (and offered not to charge us the extra A/C Euros if we paid in cash) when we checked out. However, we found out later that this seems to be the norm in Italy. We ate in restaurants that advertised credit card acceptance, but when we tried to pay, they suddenly had a problem with their credit card machine and could only take cash. So my advice is, be prepared to pay in cash in Rome. Fortunately there is an ATM just a few doors down from this accommodation. But it is in one of the best locations you'll find in Rome, and the price is very reasonable, and service is excellent in every way.

Room Tip: We had the room across from the check in desk, and it was very nice. We did not see any of the other...

First of all, the location couldn't be better- a five minute walk to the coliseum, 15 minutes from the train station, and a metro station down the block.
Lorenzo, the owner/host/guy in charge was so friendly and helpful. He gave us a cold water bottle and a map (and explained where all the sights were, how to get there, and other tips) right when we got there.
The room was pretty nice. Very clean, spacious. Wifi and towels provided. The breakfast was really nice and delivered to our door every morning. Air conditioning was an extra 5 euros a night, but it was definitely worth it.
Stay here!!!
