As with what other reviews have said, the location is PRIME. In face, at the end of the street, you can see the Colosseum right in front of you!! No need for any transport pass. Most locations are within walkable distance.

Clean, room was cleaned daily for the whole 4 nights of our stay. Breakfast was basic (as with most other B&B in Italy I've stayed) and served into the room. Internet connection was sufficient. Most importantly, Lorenzo was welcoming, helpful, and warm. We were at least an hour late when we checked-in at late midnight. Lorenzo waited for us and was all so nice about it!!

On a personal note, I love staying at a place where the locals are your neighbors. And this place it is!

The property was also in a prime location- a 2 minute walk to the Roman Forum. We didn't buy any metro tickets the whole stay since we were walking distance of all the sights!

The owner was very kind, when we arrived he gave us a map and explained everything about transportation and kindly answered our questions.

Overall I would very highly rate Downtown Accommodation and gladly recommend it to all my friends. .They exceeded expectations time and again

Downtown Accomodation is a very convenient and quiet place to stay in the hustle and bustle of Rome. It is conveniently located 20mins away (by foot) from the train station and VERY short walk from the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, etc. The staff were amazingly nice. The owner took the time to go over a map of Rome with us and show us where our hotel was in relation to all the sights and how far a walk it would be to get to each place. I greatly appreciated the breakfasts the staff personally prepared for us and bringing the trays directly to our rooms. The beer wasn't bad either! And pretty cheap for a can. The room was a perfect size for my travel-mate and I; with a small balcony and air conditioning. The washroom could have used a little renovating but it wasn't anything that would deter me from using it. It was a nice small hole in the wall that I am fortunate to have found. And, upon leaving, the owner gave me a bunch of post-cards as souvenirs! I would go back here again when traveling in Rome. Oh, and there's Wi-Fi.

Myself and boyfriend stayed here for 4 nights/5 days at the end of January 2011. We were on a bit of a budget holiday, and our last resort was to look for private roomed hostels. Downtown accomodation appeared, it was a very favourable price, so we booked!

Luckily, as we are both over 25, this was not actually what I would class as a hostel (it's much better) as there's no social room. It's small and personal, and the owner is actually the loveliest hotel owner you could ever meet. It's only a 10-15 minute walk from the Termini Station too. We caught a glimpse of the colosseum down one of the side roads just before reaching the hotel and got quite excited at how close we were!

On arrival he helped us with our bags up the stairs (Downtown accomodation is located on the first floor - there is a lift but we stupidly chose not to use it!) and showed us into our room. Then, after payments were finalised (remember in Rome you must pay a tax, I think it is 2euros pppn) he gave us a large map of the city and told us all the places to visit, how to get there and whether it was expensive to eat there or not! Such a nice touch. He recommended a variety of places, most of which were brilliant and not sights we originally considered.

The Room: we were in room 3, which faces the main road. It is noisy, but we were so tired each night we pretty much slept through it. However I am a light sleeper and it did disturb me, but that's no different from normal sleep! The bed was adequately comfortable with enough sheets and pillows. The room was immaculate - so incredibly clean and you can tell that the owner takes great pride in this place. There's a decent sized wardbrobe with many hangers, a desk, hairdryer (next to which was a travel adapter from UK-europe, such a nice touch!) and 2 chairs.

The bathroom, although a touch on the small side (I'm 5'10, my partner 6'2!) was fine, with a single shower cubicle, sink, bidet and toilet (This is where we had the problems, I had to sit sideways on the toilet due my rather long legs!). Shower was generally consistent in temperature (only had problems on the last evening when it went cold) but the pressure was consistent throughout our stay.

TV had minimal channels, but why would you complain about that? You're in ROME! It amused us before bed and whilst eating breakfast before our long days of sightseeing. Breakfast is delivered to your room, and oh my, there was a lot! We had filled croissants every day, melba toasts, butter, jam, yoghurt, orange juice and coffee/milk/sugar! we couldn't believe it, and Lorenzo asks you what time you'd like your breakfast too.

He even stored our bags on our last day, as our train to the airport wasn't until approximately 4:30pm.

The only issue we had with our room was that it did get a little cold, but in the evening it warmed up a little with the radiators coming on. This wasn't really that problematic for us at all, just an observation - we wore t-shirts in bed, and on a couple of nights hoodies. But January is pretty cold anyway.

It's an excellent location for everything - forum/colosseum/Trevi Fountain/Spanish Steps etc (we walked EVERYWHERE, even Vatican City!), there's plenty of good places to eat nearby, the owner is friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean. We couldn't ask for more. Oh, and there's free wifi too.

Highly recommended.

Perfect location - right next door to Cavour Metro (if coming from Airport, take one of the buses and take the Metro B at Pyramide to drop off at Cavour - cheaper and maybe even quicker)

Owner Lorenzo was always happy to help and show all the sights in the area including which buses to take, etc (along with a handy map)

Very central location and safe area. Walking distance to most sights
- Close to Termini station (15min), literally next door to the Colleseum and Roman Forum eg 20min to Trevi/Spanish steps which is pretty good

Room was clean, quiet and comfortable (had the room not facing the road but can't imagine it being too noisy). Ensuite bathroom had everything and 24hrs hot water. Breakfast delivered to room. Host was friendly and helpful. Safety box in room for valuables which is good in Rome. 24 hour access to room.

Would definitely stay here again! (price is reasonable for Rome)

To top it off, there is a fantastic local bakery, cheese, panini, pizza place to the right of the hotel as you exit - absolutely loved it and if you ask they'll recommend a good restaurant about 2 mintues away :)

Very good location in Ancient Rome. Can walk to Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatina. Many other sights or squares are within walking distance. Hotel is safely located along main road. The owner/staff are really helpful. The staff voluntarily gave us a very good overview of sights/interests in Rome.Really enjoyed the breakfast - served in the room at your requested time.Very comfortable, good-sized rooms with LCD TV attached to wall.
My most important concern in a hotel is cleanliness: this is probably the cleanest place I have ever stayed, ever. Very highly recommended.
