We stayed at AGV in late October 2012. The place was very comfortable, nice and clean. Mr Ruggero was a wonderful host. He provided valuable tips on how to make the most out of Rome, and to get the real taste of Italian ice creams and food :-)
The BB is very conveniently located, and has very good restaurants nearby (including McD, Burger King, Subway and Kebab shops).

Room Tip: Mr. Ruggero can arrange airport transfers as well. It will be cheaper and safer than taking a cab a...

We had a nice, clean room nearby the Vatican. Although it was easy to walk to the center of the city, the metrostation was only a few blocks away. Our host did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. He provided us with maps en told us about places worth seeing, restaurants where we could eat and places where you can get the best icecreams.
The next time we go to Rome, we certainly will go back to AGV 2001.

Ruggero operates his B&B a stones throw fromthe Vatican City walls. Three rooms. Easy location. Rooms vary in size, but its really about location and service. This offfers so much more than a hotel - maybe not the same sterility. Ruggero was our host, and he could not do enough to help. Advising what to see, where to eat, how not to be exploited. And with an infectious enthusiasm. This is not a hotel, and so there are some things that may disaappoint, but in the overwall;picture, staying here made our time in Rome so much the better. A feel for Roman life, with a guide. It was great. Many thanks to Ruggero.

I first visited this B&B back in 2010 with my sister. This time (Sept 2012) we decided to bring our parents to Rome to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I am always wary about going back to a property where i've stayed before as sometimes the standards may have dropped. Well, not here....AVG 2001 has gone through some refurbishment and our rooms were light, airy and spacious. AVG 2001 is located in a prime location - great for everyone.

The Vatican is just 10min walk max - I must say if you do go to the Vatican here's a little tip. There are many vendors selling you queue jumping tickets (the Vatican museum plus a tour guide, and the Basilica of St. Peter) for 40 Euros. First of all the Basilica is free – women must cover their shoulders though as they will not be allowed to go in. The Vatican museum is 15 Euros and a portable tour guide is 7 Euros -so don’t be fooled.

AVG 2001 is managed by a lovely man called Ruggero. He is absolutely amazing he can plan your day for you (if you want to) including routes, print outs of places and advices on lovely places to go to. It also has free wifi. He recommended and booked us a very traditional roman restaurant for my parent wedding anniversary, which was absolutely delicious!!

Would definitely recommend this place again!

We stayed at AVG 2001 in the beginning of Aug 2012, the room was quite clean. Bathroom is sufficient spacey. Also location is very good, very close to Vatican city. Especially the host is very very warm-heart, he will help you to organize your trip and print nessasary documents.

We stayed with Ruggero at AGV 2001 B&B in March this year. If you want somewhere clean, welcoming and cheap to stay in Rome then this is the place. Ruggero is warm friendly and will go out of his way to make you feel at home. He recommended local restaurants, showed us the best methods of transport to see the city and gave us no end of local info. His English is perfect his B&B clean and quiet on a side street from which you can see the Vatican wall. We will definatly be back to stay again.

I recently had a great stay here with two of my close friends. The location made walking around Rome easy because its conveniently located near one of the metro stops and buslines. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The one we stayed in had a queen/double bed and smaller twin bed, so it was perfect. The best part of the stay was the owner Ruggero was fantastic. He was so helpful and friendly, he made you feel at home, while also giving you a laugh. We had been to Rome a few times before but Ruggero knew the hidden treasures of Rome along with everything else you could possibly want to see. He would give us maps marked with directions in the morning so we could find our way around the city. He also recommended some great authentic restaurants to us and places to go shopping. With Ruggero's guidance he made our stay in Rome extra special. I can't wait for my next stay here and would recommend AGV 2001 to anyone.
