The hotel staff was friendly but the hotel definitely shows it's age. Great location if you're staying in Rome, it's right near the metro and main train station called Termini. You can get to just about every place you need to go from the A and B Metro.

On to the very average part:
-The beds were not very comfortable, they were old and worn out with indents.
-The bedding material was super old and coarse
-The shower doors didn't meet the bottom of the shower pan so you were guaranteed to have a puddle no matter how quick or careful you shower
-There was a distinct sulfur odor in the room all the time
-The hotel breakfast consists of very sugary pastries, super sweet juice, cold cuts, cake, and yogurt. Definitely not the greatest breakfast you can have considering you're in Rome and pretty much guaranteed to have long days of walking.

I stayed in the Serena and Loved everything about it, its small but very friendly and clean. There is a safe in the room and a small refridge, air conditioner & they serve a nice continental breakfast that is included in the price. Everyone speaks English, and it is very close to the termini train station, the hop on-hop off buses and the local buses. It was a really great place and I would stay there again.

Room tip: I stayed on the 2nd floor and had no problem with noise or anything. Had great sleep ,very comfortable bed

A nice little Hotel with friendly staff, cannot comment on the food as we ate out.
Although it is close to the train terminal the area does seem awash with homeless migrants in every doorway in the centre.
All in all value for money, nice and clean and close to all the sights.

Close to the train station, we even walked to some of the tourist locations from here. Lots of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops around that are open till late. On the day we arrived the receptionist was really friendly, but the person that was there the next day seemed a bit rude. The room was nice, very airy and comfy, the bathroom had bits of mould in the shower and on the shower head. The breakfast was a bit disappointing as it did not have any hot food, not even hard boiled eggs. The hotel is a good value for money, and would recommend it for a short gateway as its location allows easy access to all the attractions.
