I stayed here with my best friend for 2 nights in December 2012. Situated very close to the termini it is in a great location for all forms of transport, including the tour buses. There was a mix up with our booking but the double room was converted quickly into a twin and apologies offered by all concerned. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and tidy. The room was nicely furnished with very comfy beds and pillows. We didn't hear any noise from other guests and were very happy with the room. The only disappointment was the under powered hair dryer. The shower always had a good supply of hot water and the towels were a good quality. There was a good variety of food available for continental breakfast but my tip would be to get there early for more choice. The staff were very friendly and all spoke good English. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This 3 star hotel has a good price with a lot of benefits. First the location: people in Rome does not like Termini Station, but for tourists is perfect, since you can go everywhere very easily! The rooms of the hotel are good and confortable. I also liked the breakfast of the hotel. For a 3 stars hotel, it was very good. The free internet in the rooms are a plus! The only downside of the hotel for me was the noise, but I could sleep without any problem, so it was not a big issue.

Pleasant surprise very charming hotel with an extremely friendly, funny, and helpful front desk staff; rooms are small, but clean, breakfast was good and staff willing to make espresso to order; free Wi-Fi. Location convenient to main train station; restaurants on street in front of hotel; easy to walk to main sites and catch bus back at night!

Room Tip: Request a room that does not face the main street for a quieter stay!

We spent our first 4 nights in Italy in Rome. The Serena hotel is a great location to launch your Rome experience. Close to train station (without hearing the train noise) good access to tours, buses, and walking distance to shopping, restaurants, etc.
Small room, but didn't spend much time in it. Bathroom clean; we had a tiny shower was a little challenging. Staff very helpful, friendly and customer service orientated which unfortunately we found to be a rareity on our vacation in Italy. good breakfast, and free wi-fi helped us save on cost. Good value hotel.

Room Tip: rooms that face away from the front of the hotel may be quieter, as there are restaurants and bars r...

Our first 4 days in Italy was spent in Rome. We stayed at the Serena Hotel. The staff were very, very nice & friendly. The room was small, but most of our time was spent out of the room, so that didn't matter much. Continental breakfast was good. The bathroom and shower were just fine - no complaints here. The hotel was in a great location - it's about a block away from the train/metro station, so it was very convenient. We were able to walk to many sites, but if not, we took a quick walk to the metro station. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. It is a very charming old hotel with small but clean rooms, in room safe and decent sized shower. The breakfast was pretty good - great coffee choices and very fresh pastries, breads etc. The area is very close to the train station (8 minute walk) which has its pros and cons: it is easy to get around Rome and elsewhere taking the train, subway, tram or buses, but it is also a rough part of town. We had an early flight to the airport and the manager told us to walk together, so not too sure I would stay here on my own. The price was what I expected but I didn't expect the bed to be so hard. I like a hard bed but this was more like sleeping on the floor, maybe it was just our bed and we didn't ask to switch rooms so just make sure the bed is okay before you unpack.

The hotel was charming, clean and in a great location. The breakfast was great. There were many options for people with gluten-intolerance. The day manager was especially helpful. He even offered to call the airline a few times during the day when our luggage was delayed. I would highly recommend this hotel.
