The staff of the hotel was very friendly, breakfast was very good, and the location of the hotel is great, but... the mattress was awful (there was a hole of the thousands of people who have already slept there), the shower was either too hot or too cold, and it seemed as if the walls were made out of cardboard, because you could hear everything the neighbors were saying. Perhaps this was only the case for room 214, so if you plan on staying there, just make sure you don't end up in this room.

The hotel is within a residential building and is located on the fourth and fifth floor. The staff was very friendly and always at your service, the location is excellent (near the Spanish Steps), breakfast was satisfactory, mostly sweet, and furniture in the rooms is a little older but everything is clean and tidy. Every day, towels are changed, added to drinks in the mini bar and clean the room ... Recommendations in each case ..

Great location, expensive neibourhood, near Fontana di Trevi & Spanish steps (10 min on foot). Very clean rooms, very gentle & helpful staff. The hotel is the same as you see it in the Internet pictures. We will definitely stay there again :)

If you are looking for a comfortable, no frills hotel in the centre of Rome then this is the place for you. Hotel Garda is about a 2 minute walk away from the Spanish Steps and also very close to many other main attractions in Rome. The accommodation is located on the 4th and 5th floors of an 18th Century building. There is a lift to the hotel so you don't have to carry your luggage up the stairs. The hotel is very basic, comprising of a small reception area, lounge area and tiny breakfast area. The breakfast served was also very basic but nice, comprising of croissants (cornetti in Italian!), jam tarts, cereals, juice and coffee made to order. The rooms were very comfortable and modernly decorated, including the ensuite bathroom which was spotless. I would definitely stay at this hotel again as the location was great and it was very good value for money.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have baths. So if you want a bath then ask for one. Alternatively, if you prefer sho...

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and we basically could not sleep during our stay.
First night: we stayed in room 214, which is smaller than other rooms because it's next to housekeeping closet and corridor entrance. We could hear all people coming back late at night, and early in the morning, we could hear the housekeeping persons.
On top of that, walls were so thin that we could hear our neighbours (I actually thought they were in the same rooms than us)

Cherry on this very bad cake, the shower was not working properly.
We obviously complained to the staff (who seemed not to care at all) and stayed in another room the next 2 nights...it was not even better: it was still very noisy, and very bad smell suddenly appeared in the bathroom (there seemed to be an issue with the toilet), which means that we did not sleep at all again.

I'm sure there are plenty of decent hotels & B&B at lower price in Roma.
