“great stay”

i would give 4.5*... pros: amazing hotel staff, specially gino was a nice guy to talk to and was helpfull (but the other guys absolutely nice), tasty simple breakfast, spacious room, nice facilities, great value... cons: bit of a walk to the tube station (and the area is not as charming as the restn of rome), hotel still needs to finish some details after refurbishing...

I had absolutely no problems with the hotel itself - good value, decent breakfast, clean etc. However, travelling to and from Rome's tourist attractions was inconvenient. You either have a 20 min walk or a wait for the bus to get to the metro station. And once on the metro it's about another 15 mins journey to the Spanish steps.
Also, the hotel is in on a busy main road in an area with no bars or restaurants nearby so you have to make the same journey if you want to go out for the evening.
Having said that, it was cheaper than the more central options so it depends what your priorities are.

Just back from a four night stay at the raganelli with my 3 children. Negatives first: don't know how they get away with describing it as a 4 star hotel. Our room was very basic, not much room to put our clothes so kept them in our cases. The tv didn't work at all and the wifi was down but the female receptionist gave us the hotel log-in which at least we could get in the bar lounge and reception but not in the rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful and although the rooms are basic and not particularly pretty, they are clean and cleaned every day, nice bathroom with nice big clean towels every day. The breakfast buffet is continental, fruit juices, coffee, teas, breads, croissants, pastries, meats, cheeses, cereal etc.. In a comfortable breakfast room. The lounge bar is small but nice to sit in at night once we were back from seeing the sights. The hotel is just across the road from a bus stop which takes you to quite near St Peter's Sq/Vatican. Although ten minutes is an under-estimate. Nearer 20 mins to get the the closest stop, then you have a 15/20 minute walk to the square-but still very handy. There are some restaurants along the road from the hotel which serve lovely food and only a few minutes walk away. There is a pharmacy very near(which came in handy as we were bitten alive by Mosquitos and needed antihistamines and repellant). You will have to pay the €3 per person per night city tax as the hotel is officially 4 star(?). Overall we enjoyed our experience because the good outweighed the bad and as it was a reasonable price felt we couldn't really expect more. Would probably prefer to be right in the city centre although the hotels there were much more expensive. We enjoyed our stay though.

I booked on their home page this hotel in Rome the day before of our trip to Rome. A last minute offer for a double room at € 70,00. We are now at our last day in Rome and before we leave the evening this wunderful city, i take the time to review this hotel where we really had good time at low cost.
Our double room was clean and quite, the breakfast could be better but if we think we are in Rome it is acceptable, the staff was very friendly and gave us good suggestion for restaurant and museum. The location is not in the center but we knew it , the hotel is good connected with the Vatican City by public transportation

Room Tip: higher floor for quite room

As I promised I tell others about my nice stay at the Raganelli Hotel. We came by car and fortunately the hotel was easy to find and fortunately we were able to leave the car at their own parking place...as I heard from friends finding a central hotel with parking is not that easy. So after our trip from Sorrrento and Naples I was quiet calm leaving the car in "good hands". The hotel is nice with such a beautiful modern lobby. I was impressed. We arrived late in the evening and the lobby with candels gave us a great and warm welcome. Just have a seat outside the hotel in the evening... the very friendly staff brings you the drink! Our room was nice, quiet on the back side with a great view over the roofs of Rome. Very clean, modern& and with all comfort you need. Would come back the next time....hope at the next vacation to Italy!

staff were very friendly.very helpful and at least they spoke alot of english, which was very useful.
safe, clean, beautiful reception and bar and bathroom - only the room furniture and bedding was old and needs to be updated.
but overall, highly recommended.

Room Tip: i was lucky to get a triple room and paid for a double room.
