The online presentation for Jonico Hotel in Rome was far, far better than the reality. What was supposed to be a decent hotel, turned out to be extremely disappointing. The dirt, the humidity in the room, the dark halls and the unwelcoming receptionists and staff made my most difficult accommodation so far. When we requested a proper room, we were simply ignored. The location is horrible, on the outskirts of Rome, on a street which was maybe cleaned some years ago. The garbage on the side walks and on the street is awful and the smell - absolutely pestilential. And then, to end it well, the hotel itself gives you nightmares.

Do not make the mistake to use ever use this hotel. It will be indeed unforgettable, but in the bad way, and you will strongly regret having stayed there.

Room Tip: Make sure you see the room before signing for it. Then, ask to be shown rooms in both wings of the h...

I have only good things to say about this hotel, it's clean, the rooms are nice as well as the staff and the breakfast is excellent (except the bread) compared to a 3 star hotel we stayed in florence. Sometimes it was very loud during the night because the door was making a lot of noises so they could work on that but that's it.

The room and hotel was very clean, the beds where very uncomfortable and the breakfast shocking! We was unable to get wifi in the room but could go to reception and use the computer. The hotel is 20 minutes away from Rome on the tram and in an area like St Ann's in Nottingham! Rough x

I stayed here for one night with my friends, food was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was really nice, could do with more tables. Some rooms did not have balconies but the rooms were lovely and spacious for a room of 2 people. Would DEFINITLEY go again. AMAZING quality for what you pay for.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here last April, after we were let down by the people we were going to be staying with. On such short notice, it was a bargain and had all the essentials that we would need (bed, shower, etc) as we would be spending the majority of the time in the city. Yes, it is 30 minutes away from the city but so what? Once we had worked out what we needed, part of the experience was using public transport to get in and out of Rome. Breakfast was nothing to shout about but I knew this would be the case before hand. Only draw backs were that the room we had was supposed to have a safe and it didn't. We spoke to the reception staff and they were happy to keep our valuables safe at the desk and nothing went missing. Also, the walls were quite thin so any crashing about from the neighbours in the early hours woke us up.

My wife and I enjoy roaming around Europe. That being said, this Hotel has offered us everything we needed to enjoy our stay for 2 nights. I have never wrote reviews of hotels before, but will start now, based off the other comments and reviews of this hotel. Is the Hotel Hard to find? No, I came strait to it with one turn around because of construction prior to the turn off, so no its not hard to find at all. Prepare yourself, and maybe print off an itinerary, unlike some other people. Google maps and a printer work fine im sure, i didnt use that, i just wrote down the address. The view? well I paid 55 bucks for a private room/bathroom for my wife and I. I plan to do all my viewing and site seeing from outside the hotel. As far as the showers? There is no difference between the showers here in Rome than anywhere else in Europe (We have been backpacking for 3 years as of Oct 28th in Europe). The breakfast? ha, its a European breakfast, which all of Germany and eastblock Europe enjoy, just because you like poptarts for breakfast, and the hotel does not give you any, dosen't mean its crap. For 50 odd bucks a night, this hotel is great. Besides, You have private sleeping cooridors and shower, plus breakfast for just a little more than a hostel, its a bargain. If you want to stay in a hotel for 48 hours out of 2 days in Rome, then dont come here, but if you plan on site seeing and use the Hotel for sleep and refreshing, then this is the place. Im surprised nobody has gave this hotel a 1 star rating for saying the TV was not in English....

Room Tip: The standard double bed room, came with a double bed and 1 twin bed for some reason. So if your a co...

No egg for breakfast. The breakfast terrible. Only a few cold sandwiches for breakfast. The rooms are small and very badly furnished. The shower cage/cubicle is literally a cage. You cannot even lift your hands . If you do that you are going to bang against the glass cubicle or the shower and going to hurt yourselves.

Try to avoid this Hotel as far as possible. Nobody knows this Hotel and it was very difficult to find it. There was no Metro or tram to this Hotel and it takes around 1 hour to reach termini fromm this Hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper florr room on the front elveation of the Hotel. There is a small garden in front of...
