Description: The osteria palmira, was born from a passion for cooking of brother and sister, Claudio and Assunta, born and raised in a tavern which stood in the center of the first district of rome, rione monti, via del boschetto, with dad anthony and mom palmyra. Today, after several experiences, they managed to recreate that tavern and family to reach those flavors of the past thanks to the teachings of his father Antonio, came to us thanks to the culinary skills of mom palmyra. The Place to be dedicated to her mom, grandma palmira. Tradition continues.

What a surprise this was!
After finding this gem on TA, my husband and I decided to give it a try. We got on a taxi and showed up at this simple restaurant where almost only Italians were eating, mostly families. The owners gave us a warm welcome and we were given a menu in english!! We started with some delicious rice/cheese/potato appetizer and ordered two dishes of pasta! They were so good that we reordered another dish of pasta (fettucine and white meat) as well as appetizers a second time! We then had a delicious pizza etc... We honestly indulged like never because that food was such a treat! We then ordered Tiramisu which was made just right! The owners, a brother and a sister as well as their spouses and the whole crew were soooo kind and fun! The white house wine was great too! This restaurant is really a place you want to go if you want to experience real italian food and an authentic roman atmosphere! Ooh and before I forget, it is so affordable!

Food was great but very weak wine list, the atmosphere is very cosy, bring cash as they told us they dont accept credit card. But without a doubt food was outstanding and priced really good.

After a 3-week family trip in Europe, it was our last dinner before heading home.

We've been going to quite a few top restaurants recommended by TA along our trip but none compared to this one.

Claudia and his family are amazing hosts and if you want to have a real Italian family meal, please go there.

Beautiful wine and food.

It's nowhere near the tourist spots but you won't regret it.

We had an amazing time there and hope you will have the same experience too.

We chose this restaurant due to the tripadvisor rating. We lived only 3 km walk away.
Their english was limited, but still better than our italian. Menucard in Italian - you need more Italian skills than none - preferably. We ordered different kind of dishes - for the cooks sake we should have chosen more similar dishes - maybe he was a little annoyed by that - since the food was too salty for our taste. But it was were beautiful arranged.

The homepage tells that they care much the food - enough to be so brave to not care much about tables with homemade boards and knives not of matching sets - clearly this is part of the image - good food for common people. You probably won't fit in as a business man with tie.

The staff was very friendly and did a good job of making all the guests have a nice time and an evening to remember as a nice one.
