Our hotel (Sant Anna) was just up the street (Pio Borgo) from this restaurant and when we arrived in Rome I knew just where to go thanks to Tripadvisor. Like someone said, go past all the other restaurants with their pushy waiters trying to get you to eat at their restaurant. When we went there for dinner on our first night, the owner was standing outside having a smoke. He greeted us warmly and invited us inside. No one there speaks much English but their menu does include English translations. We had so much fun and great food. The carbonara was delish and my wife's gnocchi was out of this world - nothing like we have in the states. On our second night, there was a group of women from Pennsylvania (where we're from) and two priests. Soon we were all talking comparing food, wine and stories. A great night. That night we went all out and had a four course meal. Everything was great and I miss it already! Like I said to my wife, "Where are we going to eat when we get home?"
