Five of us stayed at the Martina Piazza Del Popolo apartment. For a group our size an apartment was perfect. We had a very nice apartment right on Via Flamino at the Flamino Station, right across the street was the Piazza Del Popolo. We could walk to all the sights and our apartment was in a nice neighborhood. Directly across the street from our apartment was the best little pizza joint. The place was always full with the locals. The pizza was incrediable. For the tour companies it was very easy to drop us off after the tour because it was always on the way back to their office. Because it was an apartment we were able to eat some meals in. Elena was our contact, she mets us at the apartment when we arrived. She took us up and showed us around. We had her number in case we needed anything, which we did not and she arranged for our transfer back to the airport with the driver who picked us up.

My only negative comment would be that if you are not used to hearing city traffic and city noise, bring ear plugs because it is in the heart of the city and can be noisy. We all got used to it. I really loved the location.

Thank you very much for your very positive opinions! Martina a Piazza del Popolo is an apartament really located in a strategic area, you can reach walking all the major attractions of the old city of Rome. Plus: the metro station in a short walk allows you to quickly and easily get farer areas and it is a relief to come back home with public transport after a busy day out to see the beauties of Rome! thanks! hope to see you soon!

We stayed for 5 nights at Martina House (Via Lazio). It's a good old-fashioned B&B with spacious room and good bathroom, bed was ok, good AC, efficient coffee. Near the Villa Borghese, there's a lots of great restaurants, metro and things to do! Martina helps with infos and things to do in Rome. Great place for who wants to meet the city and take a rest by night. We loved Rome!

This B&B really does feel like home. Great place for any length of stay. The place itself is in a block of apartments with a charming antique cage elevator. Martina was lovely and very helpful. I really loved the decor of the place as well as in the rooms which was also very clean. The location was very convenient, right next to Villa Borghese. Short walk to the Spanish steps(10 min), Trevi fountain, pantheon(15-20min) and the shopping! The breakfast was simple but enjoyable. The only issue is there is no internet access.

Stayed for four nights while on vacation.
Pros:
- some rooms are quiet
- breakfast is filling and tasty
- under 10 min walk from subway station and walking distance to historic center
- pretty upscale safe district
- Martina provides good written explanations on how to reach her place and offers a "limo" service, which is just a taxi.
- there is a supermarket nearby, though Martina did not know about it
Cons
- rooms are small
- though I asked for a quiet room, our first room was overlooking a busy street
- hotel is an old apartment with a kitchen, but guests are not allowed to use it
- Martina does not have a habit of answering guest's calls and sms messages.
- pictures on site may be misleading, ask for details directly

You may reach the hotel from the nearby subway station walking mostly under ground. With lousy Italian signage it takes time to figure out your way, while actually entrance to the subway is less then 100 m away from the B&B (you will still have to walk at least 5 minutes under ground to reach train).

It's OK for the price, but no cancellation policy sucks.

Room Tip: Request prior to arrival are irrelevant.

We stayed at the martina house for 2 nights in July 2011. It is easy to find, the metro stattion is only 3 minutes away "piaza spagna" (walk).
Martina was great, beakfast was nice and the room we stayed in was wonderful: view over via venetto, right across the marriot hotel. there are 2 metro stations in walking distance, the area is very safe even at night.
the room was very clean and provided everything you could need on a city trip.
Martina helps with tourist destionation, offers information and tips and tricks.
Thank you Martina.
It was great.
Greetings

My and my friend booked Martina House based on many of the reviews on here, and we must say it lived up to its reputation! We arrived very late on a Sunday evening due to airport difficulties but were meeted and greeted immediately without hassle and taken up to the fifth floor, into the lobby and to our room. The room itself was brilliant, a good size with a nice bathroom and a simple, modern / vintage decor with a great view over the famous Via Veneto.

Breakfast was lovely, and Martina very attentive in a small breakfast hall with quaint furniture... perfect before a busy day out in the bustle of the city. Martina House is located in a large attractive apartment block just like every other on this elegant street and right by a huge park- perfect for an evening stroll before dinner. We walked everywhere, wanting to soak up every little brilliant bit of this amazing city... but for those who dont want to the metro is 30 seconds walk, literally.

We cannot state enough how nice Martina is, any questions at all we had she replied in good English... showing us the best places to go on the map. Unfortunately one of us had a slight stomach bug whilst in Rome, but Maria was very understanding providing tea and extra loo roll (sorry Martina!). The TV for weather forecasts came in handy.

We highly recommend this B & B for its location and Martina herself, the rooms were good and personally our favourite bit was the lift. We planned to catch the trains to the guest house, but in the end a 45Euro taxi each way works out about the same and were much faster.

We rented the two bedroom apartment through Martina House. Martina (a real person) was very gracious and met us at the apartment with the keys when we arrived. The apartment which is located on Via Toscana near the U.S. Embassy is in a clean building with a doorman from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The quaint elevator fits three people with luggage and makes you think you are in a fifties movie. The apartment which was located on the third floor was very nice has one bedroom with a great queen size bed and a pullout queen sleeper in the living room. There is also a small galley kitchen which has a small fridge and two electric burners. We cooked one night in the apartment and all the utensils we needed to make a pasta dinner was available. The bathroom was nice but could have been better without the tub and a stand up shower installed. You can see that the walls around the tub are going to need repair from water damage. The experience of the apartment would be a lot better if the sheets and the bathroom towels were of hotel quality instead of having the feel of being in your crazy aunts house. Since my kids are teenagers now we usually travel and get two rooms one for my wife and daughter the other for my son and I. The apartment was a great value for a family of four staying in an area of Rome around the corner from some of the more expensive 4 and 5 star hotels on Via Veneto. I would only suggest a bigger TV with at least one English station and an alarm clock. Otherwise this is a great apartment with a church, police station, and a Despar supermarket right on the same block. Oh by the way Avis and National Car rentals are within a block or two.
The Metro is accessible at Harry's Bar located on Via Veneto about two blocks away and you can walk to the Spanish steps from there. The bus stops on Boncompagni directly in front of the Embassy take the 80 to the Termini or Piazza Barberini and jump on the Metro. Great place had a great time.
