On first impressions, when you approach the hotel through a corridor and are greeted by a lift still in a cage, you wonder what awaits you two floors up, but on entering it all looked rather quaint. The room we had was a family room so may have been a bit roomier than others, and it had all the modern requirements, a full flat screen TV and full internet access on a lap top, which proved a great help when we needed it, but thats another story..and the on-suite was clean and replenished every day with new towels, soap etc., Not quite sure why we had four cups and saucers and no kettle but that was of no consequence it was perfect for our stay in Rome, close to the Termini, Metro, and the hop on hop off bus tour. So, for our first encounter of the breakfast, a voucher which we then took to a cafe a couple of doors from the hotel, and for this voucher we got ONE pastry or couissant with a coffee or tea, DO NOT have a tea, it was like they had just scooped out the dishwater!! So moving on to the ugly, the settling of the bill. We advised that we would be paying on a credit card to be told by the clerk on the desk, that this would incur a further 5% as an extra charge for payment of this sort. When we actually came to check out, the same clerk just took the agreed payment for the rooms for the 3 nights., but then asked for the 5% again in CASH which we flately refused to pay. It was an unpleasant end to what was an enjoyable stay in Rome, so be warned.....

I will try and be as honest as I can with this review, and firstly give the good points.
The rooms were clean and tidy and the on suite was cleaned each day. They have a wireless computer in each room that is free to use. It is very close to the main Roma termini so ideal if you want the train services. They also give you a voucher for free coffee and croissant for breakfast down at a nearby bar, but don't try the tea. Now the bad points.... the initial impression as you walk into the Hotel is very disappointing its very shabby. The lift is really old and smelly and the top of it is covered in fag buts. The rooms have kettle and cups...but no coffee or tea so they are pretty useless. The view from our bedroom window was someone puking out over the trash area. We were more upset when one of the workforce tried to charge us an extra 5% for paying by credit card, a new charge that had come out that day by the bank??? When the bill was paid by card and the 5% wasn't added we thought ok that's fine. But then the guy tried making us pay it in cash and that was really strange.

This hotel was highly recommended by my friend when he visited Rome so when I have the chance to travel Europe my first stop was in Rome and decided to stay in Hotel Viennese. As my observation, this hotel was one of the great price with clean and nice rooms. Every staff that works here are very accommodating especially the lady named Anabella.. Thank you for taking care of us when we stayed in that hotel.. Good job Hotel Viennese!!!

It's our first visit to Europe and we chose our first stop to be in Rome. I've booked a triple room through booking.com after reading the reviews on trip advisor way before our tour date. Great price for a great location and excellent services. On arrival at Termini Station, it only took less than 2mins to find the hotel. The elevator was old (but interesting) and big enough for 2 person and 3 luggages. Upon arrival our room was not ready yet but we were able to leave our luggage at the counter and come back for check in later. Every staff speaks enough English to communicate. Paying for the hotel was easy by credit card (cash for city tax by Italian law). Speedy WiFi, flatscreen tv (tho we rarely use as exhausted after day in Rome) and very clean room (toiletries changed every day). Room is a little bit small for three person, barely anywhere to put luggage (had to squeeze under the bed). Breakfast can be claimed from the bar just downstairs. Great stay and would recommend for travelers on a budget :)

This little hotel has very good location - is in the city center. Is just 20 meters from Termini Station, so you can take a metro and in 3 stops you reach Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Fontain di Trevi.
Clean, nice rooms with air conditioning and with a laptop with free WiFi. Big television with SKY (gratis). Staff very helpfull. Good relation price/benefit.
