Owner description: Our organization is dedicated to the study and research of underground areas of archeological interest. We have been working on numerous research projects at the Baths of Caracalla, the Roman Forum, and the Palatine Hill. At the latter site we are studying the underground areas beneath the houses of Augustus and Livia.

We were lightly disappointed by this visit, expecting a longer and complete tour due to the original size of the stadium Domitian. The area includes only one of the entrances to the stadium and part of the steps before ending the tour at the surface, in Piazza Navona. The guide was available and competent. They provided headphones to hear the explanation of the guide also at distance.

After returning from a cruise on NCL's Jade from Venice to Rome, our group on 12 wanted an afternoon tour of Rome's underground. We contacted Luca. Our decision to have him be our guide was the right one - He is the Best. We toured the Catacombs and St. Clemente's.

Luca is knowledge, flexible and fun. He brings history alive. I especially like his use of the I pad to make the picture even clearer. He encourages and answers all questions. You never feel rushed. As an added plus, he speaks excellent English.

On our very first day in Rome we were lucky enough to have a tour of the St. Clemente Church with this excellent tour guide. He was so knowledgeable and we learned so much. We loved that the tour was such a small group and that he took the time to answer our questions. Once he knew what our interests were he also personalized the tour to direct his talk to those interests. He was patient and brought excellent visuals to help us understand the "BC" world. Highly recommended. It turned out to be a good kick-off for our vacation.

We had three kids and the nearly three hours of walking tested their limits at the end, but the Colosseum tour where you only have 12 people, skip all the lines and go underground and to the top floor is highly recommended. We had an archeologist as our guide and he was amazing. Don't go without a tour, an it's worth the extra for the underground tour.

Recently we had two guided tours in Rome with Luca Di Trapano as our guide. He had suggested possible areas to explore and the results were excellent. On the first afternoon we toured the catacombs and St. Clemente Church. Since we were tired from our overnight flight from the US these were perfect venues. Luca kept us moving, provided many "insider" details and made the history very interesting. Probably the highlight og yhr day though was lunch at "Historica Antica Rome" as picked out by Luca. Our host was the owner Paulo who turned out to be an excellent fit with us. The restaurant is located in an old (Roman time) columbarium which made for a unique dining experience. the food was the best we had on the whole trip. I can especially recommend the Roman style lasagna (no tomatoes!) and the Pecorino cheese.
Our second day was spent at the Colliseum and Roman forum. Luca's knowledge and his involvement of all of us in a Roman play made the visit very enjoyable. He obviously put some thought into making our time there quite enjoyable. He was sensitive to our timing need and provided excellent ransportation for our jpirneys around Rome. I would highly recommend him for his service, knowledge and friendly attitude.
