“One of kind service and concierge”

My experience at the Fortyseven Hotel was an exceptional one. Having no real idea of how to get around in Rome this hotel was incredibly helpful with assisting on idea to view the Eternal City. The front desk concierge was incredible lead by Marco and the rest of the staff as well, setting up personal drivers, tours, and even arranging personal breakfasts when our group had a very early flight. The view of the restaurant is also super nice as are the redone rooms.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my wife, and enjoyed the room service!! Lasagna was lovely!! Didn't think much of the food in the terrace restaurant, and breakfast. But this didn't stop us enjoying our stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful in telling us where to visit and eat. Would recommend.

For the price it's kind of beat up. Reception was friendly and efficient, but much of the food staff was cold. The maitre'd on the rooftop restaurant seemed offended when we wanted to come up for a drink in the evening. Our stay here was perfectly pleasant but for the price, it's not top notch. Hair in the bathroom, broken curtains, walls needed painting, etc. I would only stay here again if it weren't so expensive.

I try to review every hotel I stay in, and for the first time, I'm really torn about what to say. We spent a week in Tuscany with a night in Rome on each end. Our first night was at Hotel Piccolo Maison and our last night, our splurge night, was at the Forty Seven.

We arrived around 11am on a Saturday. A bellman greeted us on the street and helped get our bags out of the cab. But our reception in the hotel was pretty frosty. We weren't greeted, heck, we were barely acknowledged at all. Our bags disappeared somewhere and we just stood there while both women in the reception ignored us. Finally, one of them lifted her head towards me. I said I had a reservation and she quickly told me that check in is at 2pm. I really wanted to freshen up before our lunch reservation, but oh well, that's how it goes.

She did agree to confirm my lunch reservation which was good because I'd forgotten the time. She pointed us to the restrooms where we changed our clothes before hitting the streets.

We returned after lunch and received keys to the room. No explanation of amenities, no information about the hotel bar and restaurant. (Many of the nicer hotels in Rome have spectacular roof decks where the restaurant is located). Nothing. She couldn't get rid of us fast enough.

The room, however, was really nice and quite large by European standards. Wood floors, nice bathroom with great amenities and a large window overlooking a courtyard and part of the street. We were on a low floor, but the window was well insulated and we didn't hear a thing when it was closed.

The hotel information book seemed sorely out of date (as well as being quite dirty with stained pages). We decided to check out the turkish bath in the gym, but it appeared to be broken or out of service. Then we decided to find the bar and have a drink, only to be told it was closed for a private event. Now I understand that things like that happen, but it really sucked to be shut out of a large part of the hotel. I think the least they could have done was offer an alternative to guests who were not part of this private event...maybe a free drink in the (much less appealing) first floor area? Something that showed they appreciated their (other) guests and realized that they were being inconvenienced!!

The room was nice, but the service was not friendly at all. Both internet terminals in the lounge were offline and you'd think I asked for the moon the way the receptionist responded when I asked for the wifi code (and the hotel advertises free wifi in the public areas).

Was it worth almost $400 to stay here for less than 24 hours? No.

First of all, we would like to thank you for having chosen Hotel Fortyseven for your recent visit to the Eternal City, but also for having taken the time to comment on your stay.
We would like to clear up some of your comments that were mentioned in your review.

Hotel Fortyseven realizes the importance of greeting Guests. Since the opening of the hotel, eight years ago, our philosophy has been one: Satisfying our Clients. Therefore, you were welcomed to the hotel by the Bellman who helped get your bags out of the taxi. The Bellman quickly placed your luggage for safe keeping until your room was available due to your early arrival. Nothing ‘disappeared’, simply placed in our Deposit Area.

As stated on our site and room confirmation, check-in is from 2 pm. Your early arrival was facilitated by booking lunch by our Reception, as you had stated, that your hours were a bit confused due to travelling.

Also, hotels normally do not give information regarding amenities as Guests are most likely able to choose the type of room and ‘view’ amenities on line or on arrival.

Hotel Fortyseven will certainly consider your observations regarding there not being enough information given about our Giano and Circus Restaurants.

When our Roof Restaurant is booked for a private event, we welcome our Hotel Guests to enjoy cocktails and dine in our Courtyard and Giano Bar areas which exhibit works by internationally-known artists. Complimentary drinks are not offered as the Courtyard is a unique location due to the artwork.

Regarding our Turkish Bath area, our Guests are invited to use it as well as our Gym, 24/7, but need to ask our Reception for assistance as the Bath needs to be heated in advance and there is a security guide placed in view near the Bath that should be read.

We are truly concerned that you were not satisfied with your stay and we hope you will give us a second chance to restore your confidence in the quality of service we provide.

Most of the time, we greet our Guests with " Welcome Back " and not only "Welcome " as they come again and again. They know that service and comfort are our first priority.

If there was a rating about excellent, Hotel Fortyseven would receive it. Excellent location, rooms are fantastic, staff is exceptional in every way, and breakfast is great. We have traveled to 38 states in the U. S., 21 countries in Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil, and this was the best hotel we have ever stayed. I only hope that my wife and I can return to Rome and visit Marco, his great staff, and Hotel Fortysven again. Thank you for an experience to remember forever.

Room Tip: Suites on the 5th floor were great.

We've stayed at this hotel last week, for 3 days during our honeymoon. The service was excellent, the staff was extremely professional and helpful. They were always ready to help in any situation. The hotel has very good facilities and the rooms are spacious and modern.
A major highlight for this hotel is the location in the center. It is near of the most visited Rome and the best restaurants and shops.
Congratulations to all staff!

We had an spacious, well appointed room with a superb view. The rooftop restaurant served a spectacular lunch and the staff was tremendously helpful. If we're ever in Rome again, I would certainly go back.
