Steps away from Piazza del Popolo, this luxurious hotel has a pretty courtyard and a huge garden, the street noises don't penetrate, the only sounds are cicadas and piped jazz music. It's a lovely place to rest your aching feet after sightseeing or shopping all afternoon. The cocktails are expensive but very good and come with an assortment of nibbles: chips, olives, raw evgetable sticks, little mozzarella balls and smoked salmon on a chicory leaf. I very much enjoyed my Green Mary (a twist on Bloody Mary that contains wasabi as well as Tabasco) and my companions were also happy with their Amaretto sour and Pomegranate Margarita. Service is slow, but we weren't rushing anywhere and quite content to savour the moment. Citronella candles successfully keep the pesky Roman mosquitoes away.
