“A room in Rome”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Excellent location near the Coliseum. Aldo was warm and welcoming and very helpful. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We appreciated the fresh fruit and water that was left in the room every day. Generous sized modern bathroom. We would stay again!

Four of us stayed there in October for 4 and 6 nights in two of Aldo's newest rooms, and they were definitely quite nice! Easily the biggest bathrooms I've stayed at in a B&B, even by American standards! Definitely was nice to relax in a warm shower after a long day of walking around. As others have stated, it is in a fairly ideal location. Short walk to the subway (2 choices), near plenty of light and full dinner choices, and of course, the Coliseum is about a stones throw away! Breakfast was awesome with a good spread of juice, banana/apples, yogurt and the largest spread of pastries that I've seen. And of course, fresh espresso/cappuccino every morning. We can certainly attest to Aldo and Gioia's good cheer, suggestions and overall hospitality. All in all, an excellent choice, and we'd certainly stay here again if we're back in Rome!

Aldo and Gioia were delightful. We booked 2 rooms and stayed 25 nights. We were within walking distance to just about everything you wished to see or do. The Metro was handy if you wished to go further. The rooms were immaculate, the breakfast was very entertaining with the hosts. Aldo was very helpful booking reservations, taxis or just offering advice. We really enjoyed ourselves and would return.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights in October and loved it. The B&B is very neat, modern and comfortable. We stayed in the double room which faces into the courtyard. The bed is very comfortable, there is plenty of hanging space for clothes for 2 people, the bathroom is well appointed and the shower has great pressure (really nice after a long hot day of wandering around Rome!). Note: There are no irons/ironing boards.
Aldo provides a breakfast from 830 each morning which is very handy (and tasty too) and he will give you tips and recommendations on places to eat and explore. He also has a small library of guide books and maps if you want to borrow one.
The B&B is close to buses (route 87 is handy for the Centro Storico) and the metro A line stop (Manzoni) is only 5 mins walk and will take you to Termini, the Spanish Steps, the Borghese Gardens and the Vatican.
Good location, very comfortable accommodation and Aldo is a welcoming host. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: The Double Room may be the cheapest option but it is certainly still comfortable.

We loved our stay with Aldo in his B and B. The room was large and beautifully kept and decorated. Our room overlooked the courtyard and it could be a little noisy a nite if we left the window open, but no problem. The bathroom was more than I expected! Aldo was the perfect host, kind and informative, always taking the time to talk and help us with our needs. His breakfast was delicious, especially the cappuccino! The location was perfect for us. Close to many things, we mostly walked but also public transportation was easily accessible. Aldo also recommended some good places to eat and he was right on! Delicious!
I would recommend this B and B to anyone visiting Roma! We loved it and Aldo! Thanks so much for making our visit to Rome memorable!

A perfect start to our family holiday! Aldo is a very friendly and helpful host, with some great advice on getting around the city. We were there 4 nights, and loved getting back to a cleaned and very comfortable room after a busy days walking. Perfectly located close enough to the Metro, the Colosseum, and some great dining and sites a pleasant walk away. Even has a small lift! (a rarity!)

We were embraced by the scorching summer heat of Roma when we arrived, after flight delays and not such a smooth arrival, it wasn't a good start to the trip. However, Lorenzo and Aldo managed to flip it all round. We were greeted by the entrance door, led to our spacious room with an interesting decor. Hospitality was amazing all throughout. What is most valuable are the tips given by Lorenzo. Recommended food spots, hangout places and things to do. What started as an uncomfortable journey ended as being a wonderful experience.

Aside from our fantastic hosts, what becomes positive points are close proximity to supermarkets and dining areas.. And of course: to mention Colloseo and the funky neighbourhood of Monti. A good place to dine and shop for indie Fashion. Check out Neo Shop at Monti, for contemporary jewellery. In the room, we're blessed with air conditioning (a must!) and towel dryer (which in times of an emergency, could be used to dry clothes).

What could be improved though: you'd have to bring your own soap and shampoo. Could use more variety of breads and fruit during breakfast. Maybe this would happen after the expansion, since when we stayed there, the were only a few rooms.

Overall, the place is cosy, comfy and recommended highly.

Room Tip: Colloseo room for sure. Though to view, you'd have to stick your head out the window.
