“Great hotel”
Reviewed August 15, 2013 via mobile

Great hotel in a good location especially for the termini. Clean rooms with a pillow selection ( we loved being able to choose our pillows!). Staff very helpful especially Elena telling us how to bypass queues for the colosseum and forum! Really good value for money.

This hotel is sincerely amazing, the best hotel we stayed at on our European trip through five different countries. We arrived super early by train, expecting to keep our luggage in the lobby because that's what I thought was normal. Apparently, that wasn't allowed, we got a room immediately which was a little surprising, and we were allowed to go up to our room. The room itself is clearly well taken care of. from the floor to the bathroom to the bed. We were fortunate to get a large, lockable wooden shelved unit in our room so we could put our luggage in. The shower for us was a Jacuzzi style shower with body jets. Great room for an amazing price. Also, this hotel is extremely central. An 8 minute or less walk to Termini, we walked pretty much everywhere, got lost a couple of times, which made us sit down and eat and drink. So we found some great places! The breakfast was great.

Now for the part that I thought separated this hotel from everyone else was the staff. I have to say, the nicest people work there. Each member of the staff did everything they could to make sure we were taken care of and happy.

This place is a must stay, and if/when I'm back in Rome again, I'm going to be at the same place.

Dear Alex,

It surely is strange writing back an answer to your review...

...As far as we see things, a hotel should become the guests' home in the city it is layed, and that is what we try to do here. If we have the possibility, instead of waiting 14°° o'clock (the official check-in time), we give the room even earlier, if it is ready. If not, as you said, we keep the luggage , offer a coffee and a pastry to our guests while they wait for their room to be ready, or give them maps and indications for them to already start exploring, and by the time they come back, they find their luggage in their rooms..

But you probably knew that already! :)

I could stay here and write forever, you and Ashley are some of the most amazing persons I've met, but duty calls, so... Edoardo and all the others send a hug. :)

Best, warmest and most serene wishes,

Elena

My husband and I arrived in Rome for 3 days, after visiting Florence and didn't know what to expect, as we viewed this hotel on Trip Advisor and went by the photos as well as the comments regarding this hotel. We love the place... and upon check in, we were greeted by such friendly faces at the desk, as well as the Bellman who took our luggage to our room immediately.
Our room was clean, the air conditioning was perfect, and beautifully straightend as well as small touches on the desk as well as the bathroom, it was so excellent that we were in awww! I loved the rooftop patio(we were in room 502), and we sat out each evening as it was beautiful to see the night's stars, as well as having a cappucino in the early morning was excellent. The breakfast at this beautiful hotel was so good, we couldn't wait for the next morning to have it again...I must mention the cleanliness as well as the pretty linens were an extra A+.Great job Ladies!
We received excellent recommendations from the Front Desk Folks(who will make your reservations and give advice, maps, etc), for silver jewelry shops to Restaurants(thanks for this as we loved Ristorante II Pereroncina D'Oro)-make a reservation; as this is a small place but the food and service is terriffic!! Thanks to all at Raffaello Hotel, we would come back anytime!

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and the view was spectacular, love the patio!

We loved Hotel Raffaello! Sparkling clean, reasonably sized rooms, fabulous breakfast, staff who are knowledgeable and friendly, great quiet street with fun restaurants nearby.Easy walking distance to Metro (Cavour or Termini) and buses (Termini). We sprang for a "superior" double, which had a lovely private terrace full of plants, where there was always a breeze when we sat at the table with a cuppa tea planning our next outing and resting our feet!Well worth it. We also got a huge kick out of the side-mounted jacuzzi jets in the teeny shower cabinet. Ask for restaurant recommendations, and you'll get to places that aren't in the guidebooks. The only people who might be slightly disappointed would be those who want to be RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the most frenetic tourist action; we,however, were happy to be a bit removed but still with excellent access. I will recommend this place to anyone I meet who is going to Rome, and I will hope to get back some day.

Room Tip: If you can afford the extra for a "superior" double, do it.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. It was just wonderful. They upgraded us to a suite with a terrace since it was our honeymoon and then gave us a free bottle of champagne. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and sweet. I felt like they were profressional, yet so warm and pleasant that it made our stay even better. The hotel was in an amazing location and was pristinely kept. The breakfast was free and tasty in such a cute little breakfast area. The lobby was cozy and quant with a nice little lounge area where you can get free coffee night and day. Concierge helped get us a tour and was extremely helpful. I absolutely just loved staying here and it definitely was the best of the hotels we stayed in during our tour of Europe. Air conditioing and WIFI worked great!!!

Dear S F ,

The first thing that came to me while reading your review was "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
In an year that I have been doing this job, ...I have convinced myself that it all depends on the way one WANTS and DECIDES to see things...
Where I'm getting is that we always try to do our best in order for our guests to feel confortable and have a serene staying... but it's only A FEW that notice and appreciate it...
We are here for you, and the most important thing for us is our clients to leave Rome happy, and with warm hearts.
We are glad to see and know we were able to achieve what we wanted.
Have a perfect marriage, and...hopefully...we will witness one of your anniversaries... ;)
Best wishes,
Elena

My fiancé and I had an amazing trip to Rome and the Raffaello Hotel played a big part in that. For a European city hotel we both thought that the bedroom was a generous size, it was clean and tidy and the air con was very effective. The staff were all welcoming and very helpful; the small touch of having the aircon already pumping out cold air when we entered the room for the first time after arriving in a very hot Rome was really appreciated. Breakfast was above what I'd expect for a continental buffet and the complimentary coffee machine produced a very good espresso. We would not hesitate to recommend the Raffaello to other travellers.

Dear Jamie B,

"God is hidden in small details", like a wise proverb says...

Therefore, the way a hotel cares about its guests can be especially noticed in the small things, like leaving the air con opened, so you would find your room cold at your arrival, or having a coffee machine in the lobby, which our guests can use for free, or the attention to the quality of the products we use for breakfast. :)

We have learned, though, that things are oftenly taken for granted, that is why we appreciate more than we can put into words...when a guest notices and appreciates our efforts...

Hoping you will have a wonderful return , ...we wish you all the best! :)

Thank you once again,
Elena

We began our trip to Italy with a stay at the Raffaello and were very impressed. The hotel is absolutely immaculate! Our room was good sized with one of the larger bathrooms that we had during our trip. Comfortable bed with wonderful linens and pillows. The breakfast was awesome, largely due in part by the wonderful ladies who staff it! We were greeted every morning with a smile and they went out of their way to serve us. Food was varied every day and delicious...fresh fruit, pastries and a variety of meats and cheeses. Fabulous way to start our day of touring. Hotel is conveniently located to Termini Station as well as numerous restaurants within a short walking distance. Elena gave us helpful suggestions for navigating Rome. Would not hesitate to recommend the Raffaello and would stay here again in a heartbeat when visitng Rome!

Dear HHLVR,

Thank you so much for your wonderful words!!!
It feels good to receive such beautiful and sincere compliments from time to time, it gives us confirmation that we are doing a good job. :)
As about Raffaello's position, ...I couldn't agree more with you : it has a brilliant position, you can practically go everywhere from here, we have a lot of guests that even walk to the Vatican, which is a little bit further than the other hot spots...
In the end, ...why don't YOU come back, instead of recommending us to others!? :)
As there is no bigger compliment for us than clients continuously coming back...
Waiting for you,
Elena
