“Perfect stay in great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

We stayed 2 nights here having picked it based on the great reviews and we were not disappointed. The room was clean and spacious. We were on the fourth floor overlooking via urbana and had no problems with noise at any time. The breakfast was delicious every day and offered cereal, pastries, fresh coffee to order, eggs, cold meats and fresh fruit.

We caught the train to Roma and the hotel is an easy 10-15 minutes walk from termini. We walked to the Spanish steps, trevi fountain, Colloseum and forum from the hotel. Its about a km to the Colloseum and maybe 40 mins or so to the Spanish steps. There are restaurants around the hotel, we asked for a recommendation from the front desk one night and it was another great choice.

By far the best asset of this hotel is the staff. Elena on the front desk was friendly and really helpful in recommending a hop on hop off tour for us and booking us a dinner reservation on the first night. The other guys on the front desk were also extremely friendly and helpful and even the breakfast staff went out of their way to welcome us. I've worked in the travel industry for over 10 years and stayed in many amazing 5* hotels and can say without a doubt that the staff here offer 5* service. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

Dear Helen,

What else would there be to be said?! We are speechless...
It is obvious we enjoy being told how good we are, how splendidly hospitable, and terrificly best hotel in Rome, but you exagerated!!! :) (My boss will kill me when he'll see my answer to this review)... :)
Joking aside, ...we were more than happy, satisfied, gratified, ...you name it!!! People oftenly take for granted our good will , and our " we'll do our best" attitude, and we have learned how to cope with that , as well...
But reviews like yours help us remember why we're doing this in the first place. They remind us sometimes, ...we actually help people have the best out of their holiday, and allow them to build wonderful memories, therefore...
THANK YOU, madam!!!
With all the respect and affection,
Raffaello team

Our Australian neighbours recommended Hotel Raffaello for its great location and we found it to be ideal, when we stayed at the end of May,then in mid-June. We were on the alley side first; in a comfortable, clean roomon Floor 4 There was no noise, apart from occasional church bells and that's part of Rome's charm. 3weeks later, we were on Floor 2, facing Via Urbana. Just as good, with no excess noise. Some singing from the Chinese church was soothing.
The Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was so much better than other B&Bs we encountered. Lots more choice than simply continental!
As we had stayed in a very noisy backpacker-type hotel in Florence, with 2 car-hire firms doing business from 6am - 11.30pm jut below our window, we left a day early, cut our losses and headed back to Hotel Raffaello. Often, we found that a smile can create a great conversation!

Room Tip: We found that the two rooms we were given were very satisfactory. If you were unhappy with their cho...

My girlfriend and I stayed two nights at this wonderful hotel. It was conviently located in the heart of Rome, which meant you could walk everywhere! The reception staff was friendly and accommodating. We would definitely revisit this hotel!!

We stayed at Raffaello four nights in july. The hotel is perfectly located, close to the Colosseum, great restaurants and walking distance to anywhere in Rome, even the Vatican, which is across town. Yet, it is just far enough from the train station which is a less derirable area (10 minute walk). The staff was very friendly and helpfull, many thanks to Elena for her advice, her great sense of humour and friendly demeanour. The room was very comfortable, air conditionned (which was a must) and the breakfast was one of the most complete and tasty we had during our tour of Italy. The Via Urbana is a nice area with funky shops, good restaurants. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Raffaello.

I was skeptical when I booked on line a room that would be sufficient for 4 adults. My husband (6 ft 4!) and my 25 year old son (6ft!) and my 18 year old daughter were counting on me not to have us squished into a sardine can. The Hotel Raffaello did not disappoint! My husband and I had our own room with a queen size bed and my son and daughter were in their own adjacent room, each with a twin size bed. But truly, the space of each room was more than adequate. The bathroom was modern, and although the shower was, uh, shall we say, tight, we greatly appreciated the toiletries, and spa like shower head. The wireless connection was a little spotty but again, how can you complain about free access?

We walked every where (the location is not necessarily "next" to any of the typical Rome attractions),and although in some cases it was a bit remote, the walk to the Colosseum was fine and if you really wanted to, taxis were readily available and reasonably priced. The Trevi Fountain was a bit of a hike but that didn't prevent us from visiting a few times by foot. We even walked back (about 3 miles) from the Vatican just to get the flavor of the city and poke around alleys and shops. More locally there were some great little places to eat. The buffet breakfast included was a real plus to start our day. In the evening you could also stop in and have tea and coffee in their lounge. All in all, a total success.

The value based on the size of the room (suite), for four adults, the free buffet breakfast and internet, was well worth the longer walk to our destinations. Thanks to fellow trip advisors for giving us the info and confidence to book this hotel!

Room Tip: Second floor "Suite" was perfect for family.

Dear Gail S,

Thank you for having shared us with the other Tripadvisor users, whom we would like to remind they have a special discount! :)

As about your review, ...it pretty much speaks on its own, so... thank you for your praising words. It is important for us having feedbacks from our guests, as they help us to continuously improve ourselves and the services we want to offer, for our clients' sake, who we very much care about.

As you mentioned, Colosseum is less than a mile walk, as well as the 2 subway lines stops, or Termini- the Roman main station. Trevi Fountain, on the other hand, is about a mile away from us, and a walk there is worth all the narrow cobblestreets with every single antique, ancient or medieval buildings and churches, and the atmosphere one can discover only by walking...

Hoping we will hear from you again soon, we wish you all the best, and send you our best regards!
Elena

Fabulous location within a few minutes,of the Colosseum and Forum. Hotel is clean, service is great and I will go back here again. Breakfast was served in a lovely breakfast area, and is continental. Room was not large, but more than adequate and bathroom was modern. 5 minutes walk to Cavour metro, lovely restaurants, and even an Irish pub was easily found. An example of great service, was on one of the nights the power was cut off,in an area around the hotel, and the staff went out of their way, with free wine, and a great atmosphere with all the hotels guests sitting outside the hotel socialising, until the power was restored. Would definitely recommend this hotel to families as it was lovely and quiet.

Dear Mr. Michael M,

It was such a pleasant surprise for us reading your review: it is reassuring seeing our guests appreciate we try to do our best, especially in and during exceptional events, like the one you mentioned, when the power was cut off in the neighbourhood.
As we always say, one of a hotel's main strenght points and obbligation (in our opinion) is to react promptly in a crisis moment- it is THEN when you get to see the reality and the structure of an organisation and its staff...
Thank you so much for having mentioned it, and thank you for your praising words- it was our pleasure trying to do the most out of it, and we are more than glad you have enjoyed your stay here so much!
Hoping your return will be a soon one, we'll make sure to have some fireworks! :)
Best and "enlightening" regards,
Elena

I've been there last december. Receptionist are nice and competent. The room was fantastic. The bathroom was very good, even though I've to admit the toilet was crazy because of the limited space. Breakfast was really taste. Location is also very good. Price: very low compared to the quality of my stay! I recommend this place without reservation!

Room Tip: ask for a room where there is enough space around the toilet

Dear Salernitano,

Thank you, first of all, ...for having thought about us almost 7 months after your staying here, with us...If we have been in your head/heart all that time, ...there is no other need for further comments... :)
As your review was brief and short, ...but enthusiastic, I know I could never keep the same tone, so...I'll probably end it this way, ...hoping you will give us the chance to host you again soon, with a less crazy bath! :)
