I booked this after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor as a present for my husband and I must say we were not disappointed. We arrived to the hotel early and asked to leave our luggage while we started looking around Rome, however our room was ready so we were able to book in early unpack and start seeing the sights by lunchtime. The hotel was very easy to find after a short walk from the Termini, also very near 2 Metro stations. The room was very clean and a really good size, i thought the pillow menu was very good, I was able to get a softer pillow at the same time my husband prefers a harder on so we both got a good sleep. There are also lots of lovely restaurants along the Via Urbana, we didn't have any problem finding a good place to eat without having to travel far.The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. The coffee available at the hotel all day was also a really nice touch as sometimes you just want to have a sit down with a coffee at the end of the day. The staff were very helpful, friendly & efficient, a special mention to Elena who help us navigate the metro. Also it was a really nice touch to receive an email prior to arrival. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere central as the Colosseum & Roman Forum were close by and we were able to walk everywhere except St Peter's which we were able to find with easy thanks to Elena's Metro guidance. I'm glad the hotel didn't have a bar or restaurant in the building as i think it would have changed the experience, but not having them in my opinion it made it a more comfortable homely place.

Room Tip: From what I saw they were all good.

Dear Samjohn,

May I start by smiling?! Not only for your special mention, but also for the memories you have left us. :)
After smiling, I would like to thank you. For sharing your pleasant experience about the serene staying you had here, at Raffaello, with the other Tripadvisor users, to whom we would like to remind they have a special discount.
Getting back to Raffaello, ...yes, indeed, its position is one of its power points : situated in the middle of Rome, in one of the oldest Roman neighbourhoods, Raffaello is at the same time quiet, and also near to 3 different metro stops, and the main station, like you mentioned, as well as to the main attractions Rome offers to its visitors.
But Raffaello is not only about the position: it's about what we do, and first of all, ..WE CARE.
We care about our guests, about their confort, their wellbeing, and their gratification, so we try to do our best in order to meet their needs, as you well pointed out, and again, ..we would like to thank you for that.
Hoping you will give us the chance to impress you again soon, ... :)
Warmest regards!
Elena

Clean, friendly stuff, close both to the city Center and Colosseum (city Center), very rich breakfast, safe. Free wifi even in the rooms. What else can a family without children expect? I recommend to all the people who would come to Rome for a city tour.

This hotel is a great place to base yourself to explore Rome on foot. It is an easy walk to the Colosseum and Roman forum. Plus it is an easy walk from the main train station when you arrive/depart. There are plenty of restaurants close-by and a laundromat around the corner which was very handy. Breakfast was nice with real (not powder!) hot eggs. The staff were nice also. Room wise, it was clean and very large by European standards. The only negative we had was the WIFI which dropped in and out a lot and was poor strength so we couldn't use it much.

Dear guest,

Thank you for having spent some of your time writing your impression on Raffaello. Our guests' feedback is very important for us, being the main way to find out our impact on our clients, and the way to improve our services, as we have always tried to do.

One of the ways we do that would be the genuine fresh high quality products we use for our breakfast, as well as the free coffee machine in the lobby, the tea facilities, or the vending machine we recently installed.

As for the wi-fi connection, we have tunned several times, and we are still trying to improve it, but as you might now, Raffaello is an 18th century building, situated in the middle of Rome. The reason one can sleep so well here (besides the Pillow Menu and the high quality matresses :) ) would be that the walls are very thick, so the wi-fi can sometimes drop due to this fact.
However, we have a computer our guests can use for free in our lounge, and we have always provided to print important documents, or tickets, like the Vatican Museums...
Thanking you again for the time you have given us, and for having chosen us,
We wish you all the best!
Regards,
Elena

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Raffaello for 8 nights between November 2012 & December 2012. I saw this Hotel reviewed on the Australian tv show called Getaway a couple of years back now. It exceeded expectations from what I saw on tv and the factsheet from the Getaway website. All staff are very friendly & efficient. Elena the Concierge was so helpful & genuine. An extensive buffet breakfast is included, very nice. Hotel is very clean & central to public transport and all the sights. Sensational. I am definitely going back - in fact we are staying again at the Hotel in June 2013. Can't wait. Thank you Hotel Raffaello.

I spent 4 nights at this hotel in January 2013. For me, the location was great- I walked to and from the train station, plus there are 3 metro stations within easy walking distance. The neighborhood iis full of restaurants, bars, etc.
The hotel was spotless, and services good. I did have a single room, which was Hobbit-sized. The bed is small, so anyone of greater than average height might have issues. Also had to squeeze through small passage to get to shower.
Other that the size, all else was quite nice, including a generous breakfast.

Dear guest,

I couldn't do other than laugh when I read your review! :)
Thank you for having been so positive in describing Raffaello.
As like in most of the hotels, not all our rooms are identical. Some of our single rooms are small, that is why when possible, we advise our guests to have the double room for single use, paying a small difference.
However, I see that didn't stop you from enjoying our hotel, and what we had to offer. :)
The next time you will come here, ...just remind us to give you a bigger room! :)
Best regards,
Elena

We stayed at the hotel from January 10 to the 17th 2013. We were pleased right from our friendly reception to our departure - 1 week later. All the staff were pleasant and always ready to help. The staff behind the reception desk, the staff for breakfast, and the staff for the rooms were all so friendly and so willing to answer any questions and help for any other wishes we had. Elena was very helpful in preparing our daily visits and travels during the week.

The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the complimentary morning breakfasts and other coffee and tea beverage possibilities. This made our stay very comfortable and easy to sit back and relax within our hotel. The location was excellent for all of our visits because we were within easy walking distances to several attractions and the transit systems.

Excellent hotel to visit Rome.
