“Absolutely worth visiting hotel!”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

At this hotel work really excellent, friendly and professional staff (the best are the manager Antonio and the receptionist Alessandro!). You will get more than you could ever expect at this hotel level - for example coffee or cappuccino after your arrival or while leaving and any kind of advice or help regarding anything you need.

Hotel is placed at a quiet area, with a nice and peaceful garden, walking distance from the centre. You will also get there the fantastic buffet breakfast with wide choice and even fresh fruit every day! Hotel and rooms have a specific atmosphere and kind of decoration which we have appreciated so much and have never found before - let´s call it an old romantic style (more like in some castle than at a hotel). Many rooms have a balcony or a direct access to a patio or even a terrace. We recommend this hotel as absolutely worth visiting!

Room Tip: Room No 402 for a couple - on the 4th floor, in the corner, with balcony, cute and romantic decorati...

Me and my boyfriend took a 5 day trip to Rome this March and we got a great deal with this hotel. When we arrived we had a nice feeling of being welcomed. While arriving little early we were offered to have breakfast. The room was clean and good enough to have a pleasant stay. I had little doubts about the location cause the hotel is not so close to the main center but this wasn't a problem at all. Plus the area is great cause it is cheap and full small traditional restaurants and not so many tourists. The staff took a good care of us and suggested great see food restaurant near by that we tried 3 times!!! Big thank's to Antonio, the manager. Also the reason why I chose this hotel it is because it's Dog friendly, our little maltese felt like home and free of charge!:) If they would renovate in near future to make this place more modern I would say it is an excellent choice for a reasonable price! Again thank you for a pleasant stay and amazing free cappuccinos!

My wife and I had a great experience in this hotel. The staff was very polite and friendly. Very rich continental breakfast and the rooms were extremely silent. Not very central but very well connect with transport system that brought us to the city center. Price was fantastic! Great accommodation indeed!

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony on the garden side

We stayed here for 3 days in March 2013 and had a really nice experience. We arrived a few hours early on our first day after ending our cruise in Civitavecchia that morning. The staff was very accommodating and provided us with a room right away. Our room was clean and quaint with it's own bathroom and small courtyard. The included breakfast was very good with a variety of foods from which to choose. The location was great for us and we easily found our way around via the bus, tram and metro to do our sightseeing. We found several good eating establishments within walking distance - great food and reasonable prices.

We stayed here for 5 days in March 2013. The staff were courteous, friendly, helpful and funny, especially the manager Antonio, & Gianfranco who was a great to talk to about music and gigs, etc. There's easy access to the city centre by tram or bus, and the breakfast was very good.
The hotel is modestly priced and is well-placed in the universiity area for good local food (including for vegetarians) with more local people rather than tourists.
Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We asked for, and were given, a quiet room.

The good :
I think the rooms 302 and 402 are the two out of three with a front balcony , which is nice especially during spring and summer.
We got an amazing deal : 44 euro per night !
I was a bit skeptical at first (too cheap) but they ensured me over the phone that my rented car will be parked inside the hotel for free (it is a big deal considering all other hotels don't have a parking and you need to pay 15 euro at best to park it somewhere close) .
You can stay in many hotels that are all pretty much the same in decoration , but this one makes you think you are in Venice .
The breakfast : OMG .... I stayed in two other hotels with double the price per night , and their breakfast didn't come even close to the variety this hotel has . We are talking about the real deal , chocolate , croissants, french toasts , and a ton more stuff to eat and drink .
With such a price , we thought we were stealing the Hotel ....
And the best thing: 3 Feet from the hotel , is a big Super Market , which could save you a lot of money if you visit before going sightseeing and carry many snacks and water in your bag.
Even if the parking is full , you will probably find a spot next to the hotel .

The bad : If you are willing to pay more , you can consider a different hotel , closer to the center , but with such a price , you won't be let down at all !

My girlfriend at I stayed at the Villa San Lorenzo Maria Hotel from February 25-28, 2013. I am currently studying abroad in France and have been traveling around over the past three months or so. I can confidently say that this hotel is the best I've stayed at. It's located in a more intimate part of the city that feels local. Yet, every part of the city is easily accessible from the hotel. The staff is awesome, particularly Antonio. He helped us figure out how to get around the city, what to see and where to eat. Every morning, he would come to the dining area to offer us something to drink and to check up on us. The rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. This place is way better than any top-scale hotel (which I have stayed in when traveling with my parents) and could easily get stellar reviews were it to charge $400 per night. I would call this place a bang for the buck. Breakfast is complimentary and delicious (eggs, cold cuts, croissants, cereal, juice, coffee/tee/cappuccino). If I ever go back to Rome, I'm staying here!!!
