“Ceasar House Hotel and Staff Wonderful”
Reviewed October 27, 2006

The Ceasar House is a wonderful, small, clean, well located hotel, particularly to ancient Rome. From the street, Via Cavour, the appearnace of the Ceasar House is a bit deceiving. But behind the large wooden doors facing on Via Cavour is a quiet, tasteful refuge.

Among the best qualities of the Ceasar House are the staff, who were, to a person, kind, personable, and anxious to see to our every need. The staff were exteremely helpful with some unusual requests. Although Ceasar House is not wheelchair friendly, the staff was very helpful assisting us to access the apartments. However, those unable to stand and walk short distances with crutches, should look elsewhere. The elevator is too small to accomodate even a relatively small athletic wheelchair without disassembly and there are steps from the street to the elevator and a couple large steps in the Ceasar House hallway. A big thank you to the staff. We miss them as if they were friends.

This is a realy great place to stay in Rome. It's closer to the periphery of the historical centre as it's located very close to the Coloseum. The accomodations were superior and the rooms are quiet, somthing of an accomplishment for Rome. Rooms are new and pristine. Numerous restaurants in the vicinity so you won't go hungry. The breakfast provided in your room will be one of the best you'll ever have. Pure quality. Termini station is a straight shot down the street, ten minutes by cab.

  • Liked — Quality and location
  • Disliked — A liitle far to walk if you are going to Trevi Fountain or the Spanish steps.
  • Tips/Secrets — Don't stay here. If you do I might not be able to get a room next time.

We stayed at Caesar House for 3 nights this month. It has a wonderful location, the staff is outstanding and the breakfast is very, very good. They offer a wine & cheese social hour most evenings. The bedroom was the largest we've had in 3 trips to Rome. It's a lot like staying at someone's house.

The staff were able to help with all our requests; directions, recommendations and reservations. Rosanna is a delight. She arranged transportation to/from the airport for us. My wife got an excellent dinner recommendation from the owner; a fabulous, creative, comtemporary restaurant. It really helps to speak a little Italian when you go to restaurants frequented by mostly Italians.

We walked everywhere from this hotel. Nothing seemed that far away and the walks were always interesting. We'll stay there again when we're next in Rome.

  • Liked — Location & Service
  • Tips/Secrets — Good Rome hotels are about $300 per night as long as the dollar is weak.

My wife Maria and myself stopped at Caesar House for five nights from 01/10/06-06/10/06.Upon arrival we were greeted by UNI (sorry about the spelling) who portered our luggage up to reception and Rossana who asked if we would like coffee whilst our room was being prepared (we arrived at about 11.30 am).Whilst coffee was being made Rossana spent a good 30 minutes showing us via a Rome map where all of the essential attractions were and advised us that should we have any special requests that we only had to ask.We then relaxed over the coffee and croissants that Uni bought us. The room was spacious and clean and the bed very very comfortable:Our only query was that we thought that tea/coffee making facilities were available in-room which they were not.Uni however advised that we could order this via himself at any time if required. Breakfast was served in a seperate room consisting of four tables and included a choice of cereals.tea/coffee.a choice of fruit juices, croissants, rolls.jams and cheese and this was more than sufficient.Uni was always on hand to ensure that everything was okay.As previous comments have mentioned the hotel is very central to most attractions and we were able to walk to all of them.We had dinner twice at the Ristorante VLPIA (which has an excellent waiter called Alfredo) and twice at the expensive but fantastic Hotel De Russie which is probably the best eating place in Rome Overall the CEASAR HOUSE is an excellent place to stay mainly because of the service provided by UNI (sorry again) and Rossana. We would definitely stay there again as long as these two are still working there and thoroughly recommend it to all concerned. Thanks again VIVA ROMA.....VIVA CAESAR HOUSE RESIDENZE ROMANE!!!!

My family and I stayed at this gem of a hotel in late August at the start of our European vacation, and we were tempted to skip our cruise and just keep on lodging at the Caesar House! I got a great feeling about this hotel even before we arrived because they notified me right away about a problem with my booking. Even though I had booked a four-person room through an online hotel booking company, this company booked me into a two-person room, which would have been disasterous. The staff of Caesar House quickly helped me correct this, which was fantastic.

When we arrived at the hotel, fresh from our red-eye overseas flight, we were warmly greeted by Pamela and another friendly staff member as we stepped off the interesting wrought-iron elevator. They led us to an absolutely spectacular room, which featured a separate bedroom, a great room with a sofa bed, coffee table, TV, and a table and chairs, a huge bathroom, and a small kitchen. Not only was it spacious, but it was also beautifully decorated. The view out all of the large windows was awesome as well - vintage Italian buildings topped with roof gardens.

As we were getting settled, we heard a knock at the door. When we opened it, we found Pamela and another staff member holding a tray with a gorgeous Italian gelato cake and pineapple juice. From our passports, they had noticed that it was my daughter's birthday, and they wanted to help celebrate. We were amazed and delighted!

The rest of our one-night visit was excellent as well. The location is primo: steps from the Coliseum, the Forum and many other sights. Pamela's suggestions were terrific, and the service was extraordinary. We were even able to connect to the Internet free of charge.

I absolutely recommend this hotel, and would, without a doubt, stay at the Caesar House again.

Great location, very close to the Coliseum and just a bit further to the Spanish steps but all within easy walking distance. The hotel is located a 3rd floor of a building with offices and another hotel, you can access the floor via stairs or an elevator. We stayed in the new part of the hotel rooms were bright and EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN.

I can not say enough about the staff every request we had was greeted with a smile and a yes. Pamela and Uni are both gems. Pamela recommended taking the guided tour of the Vatican from Icon tours; it was worth twice what we paid. Just another note if you are taking a guided tour make sure they are native speaking English, it makes the tour much more relaxing, you are focused on what they are saying versus concentrating on their accent.

Although the entrance and elevator looked a little old (given as it occupies the 2nd floor of a building), everything changes once you enter. The place was very clean, and our room and bathroom were huge (big even by american standards).

One touch we particularly liked was having breakfast brought to us in our room. Every night, you have to fill out a form specifying what you would like for breakfast and at what time you would like to have it delivered. Wonderful.

The staff there are truly friendly and helpful. They speak perfect English and make you feel entirely at home. There is a computer with free internet in the common area.

Location wise, it's about a 20 minute walk down Via Cavour from Termini station. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the Colosseum. Overall it's walkable to most attractions (except for the Spanish steps maybe).

Overall, I'd stay there again. I paid 220 Euros a night.
