Decent hotel with everything you need, a little bit out of the way if your there for tourist purposes but I was working in the area so worked for me. Rooms are small but comfortable, breakfast is pretty good compared to most Italian hotels and the staff are helpful and friendly. Ask for a room with a balcony and if possible one on the end as they're a bit more spacious.

Both the staff and the rooms are worth the little trip out of the center. Breakfast is excellent and the staff could not be more attentive and friendly. The room was a reasonable size and the bathroom lavish - great value for the money (EUR 100,- per night incl. breakfast for 2 persons). The only thing you might moan about is that the hotel is not in the center, but that is obvious. A short walk and 10' by tram bring you to Piazza del Popolo.
If you want to meet Romans instead of tourists, the area around the Milvian bridge is perfect. Great places to eat and hang out - believe me, you will not miss the tourist traps you find in the "must be" places. Overall, a great experience.

Efficient staff and service. Room was not large but functional and elegant.
If you don t need to be in the center, a very good choice. Good breakfast.
Newspaper selection could be wider.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in Feb 2012 when we visited Rome to see Italy v England in the Rugby 6 Nations. It is located away from the City Centre (which I think was a major plus point) and in a very nice residential area and was 15 minutes walk to the Stadio Olympico. The hotel restaurant wasn't open when we visited but there were numerous bars/restaurants within a few minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast was very nice and there was a lot of choice. The room was lovely, well appointed and well sized and had a large balcony - although we didn't really use this as it was snowing when we stayed there. It is not far from the bus terminus (5 minutes walk after crossing the Ponte Milvio bridge) and it took about 15 minutes on the tram to get to the Flaminio terminus at Santa Maria del Popolo. Would definitely stay here again if and when we visit Rome.

We stayed at The River Chateau for six nights and can highly recommend this hotel for the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, the high quality decor and comfort of the rooms and the excellent bar and restaurant. We found it difficult to find really good restaurants in Rome - perhaps we needed to venture further from the centre. But the restaurant in the hotel was the best of all our dining experiences. The food is authentic Roman cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients - the wine was excellent and the whole meal represented very good value for money.

The Hotel is situated North of the centre of Rome in a nice area - plenty of restaurants and bars though not any that one would seriously recommend. A cab into the centre costs around 10 -12 euros or there are buses and trams. The out of town location is an advantage in that it is quieter and feels more personal - so many establishments in the centre seem bored with tourists! The River Chateau has comparable service to the the best hotels at which I have stayed.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter and have nice balconies.

We recently returned from our trip to Rome. We stayed at the River Chateau Hotel for 4 nights and it exceeded all of our expectations. This hotel was beautiful! The breakfasts were amazing and very satisfying. All of the upgrades made that are included in this hotel made our stay so easy and enjoyable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay there again. You will not be disappointed.

Nothing bad to say about the hotel, fantasticly comfy and well decorated rooms. Only downside is the distance from town and directions given by the hotels web page its self.

Best way there from town; Line A to Flaminio then jump on either the number 2 tram or 2 bus ( N25 at night) until you reach the bridge at the top of the road. From there is a short 5 min walk across the bridge and to the hotel.
