“Confirmation : "A optimal compromise"”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We can only confirm what others wrote! The personal: very helpful and friendly, practical for families (in any aspect, even of not being afraid that some persons (which forgot they've been kids too) could be bothered by the noise "living " kids make......
Compare with other Novotel's I'd say it is probably a bit to far outside (even there is Shuttle.....last return when Rome's Restaurants start serving)(maybe to draw clients in the own restaurant?) and a bit below average when it comes to little details......brown "shades" around the toilet-brush-fixing on the wall are not that exiting....
Good: the garage was for free on the weekend ! Not that good: the mattress of the sofa-bed for the kid was a bit something for "fakir's".
Not so practical: the lack of a bidet.
Not so nice: the shower in the tub (which wasn't designed for that and had "repaired spots" like Hotels in Kabul.....)
Going back there ? Yes , because after all it is a nice compromise of all points to be considered.

Room Tip: for Italians used to bidet's: ask for ! They have rooms WITH !

We booked here for 4 nights as we have previously stayed at other Novotels. As soon as we arrived at the main station in Rome to get a taxi to the hotel we knew we were in trouble as the taxi driver had no idea where the hell it was and we he did find out complained how far away it was, and he wasn't wrong! It is miles away from any sight seeing whatsoever . To catch a train you have to walk down a road that has no footpaths and only caters for cars. The courtesy bus they offer cost you 3 euro per person including children and even when you reserve a seat it doesn't guarantee you one. We booked and my 12 year old daughter had to sit on my knee the whole 30 minute journey into town! Breakfast is not worth paying the 14 euro for, so bring your own stuff. We arrived just after lunch after a big flight and decided to stay at hotel to eat, 12 euro for a crappy sandwich! What a joke!!. We booked a superior room ..nothing superior about it..Bed was uncomfortable, room was tiny. Don't go for cheaper accommodation here, you are better off to stay closer to town where you can access all the tourist attractions easily. It takes so long to get out of here and when your here you feel like your trapped here as its in the middle of an industrial area...

Room Tip: Don't bother!

Dear Guest,

I am very sorry to read about your unfortunate adventure with the taxi driver while arriving at the hotel. And I am even sorrier for the unpleasant stay you had here with us. Our aim is to offer a pleasant stay enriched by an efficient service, so that our guest can leave satisfied and carrying with him a good impression of our hotel. Luckily, by reading most of the reviews here, we manage to accomplish our aim. The location of the hotel is described on our website as outside the city, while our Mercure "cousins" are nearer to the city centre.
As far as the shuttle service and the breakfast are concerned I will personally enquiry my colleagues. I would be very happy if you could experience once again our service in the future so that we can show you how our service has improved, despite of the hotel location, that we can not change.

Not to much to write about with this hotel, it was all very good. great room, staff , and restauarant. the location lends itself perfectly to those that want a good hotel just outside the bustle of Rome cenre. Being in a car, we asked the staff the best way to get into the centre, they directed us to a nearby metro station where we parked for 1euro, 50 cents for the day. We bought a metro day ticket for 6 Euros, great value.

We stayed two nights and left totally chilled. On a negative note, we paid by credit card and didnt appreciate the receptionist taking payment in Sterling without asking. Always pay in local currency, its cheaper!

Would definately use this hotel again.

Hotel is located far from city centre of Rome (approx 40-60 min by car). By train it will take more than 1h with 2 changes. The trains are not in operation on Sunday! and the last one from Rome is just after 10pm.
Quality of the hotel similar as averywhere, but unfortunately not really.
Breakfast was very poor!!! Worst I had even in Novotel, if you have choose, please don't take it. I cannot imagine that for example orange juice was from powder, or there was only one type of bread.

I booked Executive room, it is the same as standard, but there is coffee machine, equipped with 3 capsules of coffee for your stay, it is not refill later!
There is swimming pool, but unfortunately closed...

I recommend to stay somewhere in the centre of the city

Spent a weekend with family here and I chose this hotel because the price was ok (even if the location is really awful to the city centre if you dont have your own transportation) and because I really trust Accor Hotels chain. I was satisfied with my stay here. 4 people in a room and was still alright. Staff was ok (we didnt have much to do with them, just checkin and checkout) and parking was useful and free of charge. The room was clean and the toilet as well and the swimming pool was nice as well even if not that big so tends to get crowded quickly.
I would recommend this place but as i said, make sure you dont mind taking a bit longer to get from here to the city centre. If you are ok with this, then go for it .

Well we were thinking that staying on the outskirts of Rome and travelling into the old town would be worthwhile, and we were wrong. While the hotel itself is quite nice, standard Novotel room that you find anywhere, with a pool and great breakfast included, the distance and hassle of getting into the old city was very painful. Definitely worthwhile paying the extra to stay closer to the city. We were told there was a shuttle into town, well yes, but only one, leaving at 9 in the morning, and only one back at night at 8pm. OK this was fine to get into town, but then we needed to catch the train (crowded) back to the hotel, changing three different train lines. There were no shops nearby either, so very cut off unless you drive the chaotic streets around the place. Don't try and walk from this hotel either, the traffic is crazy. If you don't mind a huge cab fare to get back from town, then this is a good cheap hotel. In short, out of a month of hoteling it around Italy, this was the worst location we stayed in.
