Novotel Roma Est Hotel
Ranked #387 of 1,271 Hotels in Rome

Novotel Roma la Rustica is a typical Novotel Hotel. Location is quite far away from Rome center, but there is a train station within walking distance. Daytrips to Rome are easily arranged, so this could be a nice place if you value a swimming pool and a quieter location after a hot day in Rome.

Rooms are basic and clean, but rather small.

There are no other restaurants in walking distance, but if you have a car there are many of them within few kilometres range.

Swimmming pool is quite small and number of sunbeds is limited. However, this was not a problem since there were only few others swimming/sunbathing. Pool towels were provided by the hotel.

Overall this hotel was ok for it's price.

The hotel was a bit far from the city center. No establishments nearby. No access to railways. Took us 20 to 30 mins to get to the city center. Paid around 20 euros for the hotel limo service. Hotel was part of our package tour. Nice cozy room though. Breakfast was ok. Typical novotel. Just a bit isolated.

This hotel is included in our package euro tour, we stayed here for two nights only. Hotel staff was helpful and very friendly. First night, we took a taxi cab to visit the city and it took us 30minutes to arrive in Piazza Navona. Hotel was just a bit far from all the tourist spots and no establishments near the area. Room was clean and cozy.

Firstly I booked this hotel on stars and reviews, this was done on site Hotwire.com where they don't tell you location of Hotel until you part with your cash(non refundable)-Ok a bit foolish but description indicated that it was within Tibertina area of Rome.
Evidently it was not it was stuck out in the suburbs next to an Industrial estate with no footpaths etc. As I booked with good old Ryanair flight did not get me in to Ciampini Airport until 2130 on a Saturday night therefore had no option other than get a private taxi,at cost of 45 euros.
Hotel was very clean only objection is having to pay 3 euros each way for shuttle bus to Rome Termini. Given the location this should be free. Did not eat in Hotel as looking at breafast selection felt that 14 euros was overpriced.
Beware that Hotel charge you a 3 euro tax per person for every night you stay even although you are well out in the suburbs?
You can get a train from La Rustica UIR which is about 750 metres away up a road with no path-tried it one day -get shuttle. This train Fr2 takes you in Tibertina Station which is undergoing massive modernization for arrival of new high speed trains Ital2!.You then get metro line b to Termini or wherever.
As for Rome itself we went on an Italian holiday weekend-not advisable-good forward planning!-I have visited Rome many times throughout the years but found the prices this time excessive-Cafe Americano 4 euros from small care. But everybody knows that Rome is a rip of for food, drink etc.
Something which saddened me was the rudeness of some of the staff in restaurants needless to say no tip.
Finally the graffiti is now getting out of control-don't be put off coming as it is still a marvellous city full of life and vitality.
