Stayed in a triple room in September. Room was clean, not a large room, but third bed was at least not a trundle. Bathroom quite small but managed to keep clothes and floor reasonably dry. Great location , 5 minutes to Republica metro. Some good restaurants and bars on surrounding blocks. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Depending on who you got on reception, some of them tried to fleece you an extra 5€ to use the iron. Breakfast was ok, coffee was quite good.

I am working in tourism industry in my country and know very well how to filter the information written in some tripadvisor reviews . When we booked the hotel we only wanted to get a good location, reasonable price, simple breakfast ( croissant or bread and butter with jam and cup of coffee / tea). I booked the room directly at the hotel - wrote to the front desk through tripadvisor . I was very surprised when the hotel manager answered me after half an hour. Must tell you that I wrote to several hotels in Rome the request for the good price for double room for the specific dates . All other hotels answered me only on day after I have sent the request . Morpheus manager answered immediately. We came to the V Palermo street ( parallel to central Via Nazionale ) and understood that the location is perfect for us. 10 minutes walking distance to Fountain de Trevi , 5 minute to the Opera, supermarket is nearby, Metro ( Repubblica station) in 7 minutes walking. Great location. The elevator in the old building is like in Woody Allen movies every time when you get in or out you are smiling ( really ! there are 2 doors in the elevator - first is out and second inside. You need to close both doors when you are getting out - and this is very cute and nice). The most amazing was to find out that the hotel is located on the second floor and all hotel areas or rooms are after full renovation. All is clean and nice designed. Safe in the room was free of charge. Shower is clean and comfortable. Nice unique photo images exhibition was there on the corridors walls. Breakfast hall is pretty small, but it was not crowded at all. The breakfast was excellent for us. Boiled eggs, grapefruite juce, fresh apples, pastrami, croissants, jams, yogurts, cheeses , bread and butter , milk, cornflakes.
The women which served the breakfast every morning was so kind, she smiled all the time and invited us to the cappuccino or espresso every morning. We felt very welcomed - spent 6 days in this hotel. Tatiana at the reception and every other clerk at the front desk helped us every day to understand the map ( we received the Rome map free of charge in this hotel) . All staff speak very good English. Alessia, hotel manager, is very kind women, she has a time to talk with every guest. We were surprised that she is speaking a little bit Hebrew and Russian. It is very unusual and you feel like in the family. We definitely recommend this place for accommodation to everyone who want to be in the center of Rome and look for the clean room, good price and fresh breakfast. Ah ! Very important: free WiFi in reception area helped us a lot to speak with our kids by Skype. The free of charge internet corner near front-desk helped to check emails and to buy a tickets to Vatican Museum on-line ( the front desk clerk printed the vouchers for us after order on-line - it was very kin). All those small but very important things make the hotel very unique. Be sure: we will tell all our friends about Rome and about your services especially.

Room Tip: Tell the hotel staff in advance what you prefer - they are very attentive attitude to our wishes (fo...

We have just stayed for one night here booked through bookings.com. Once we had our bearings it was not hard to find, however we did get a taxi from Tiburtina station (€11) in the first instance which did help. Staff were good and helpful and the reception was staffed 24 hrs. We stayed on the 4th floor in room 4, a corner room with a double bed and bunkbeds. The room was clean as was the shower room. Small fridge, enough to hold bottled water and the air conditioning worked fine.

We arrived early at about 1130, did the "paperwork", and left our bags to get lunch. On return our bags were in our room. Since the roms are centrally located everything was easy to get too. My suggestion would be to get a good map of Rome and not rely on the ones the hotel will give you.

Breakfast was a basic continental in a small room with tables for 2 which was a bit of a bind when you have 2 children. When we left I did see a larger room on the 4th floor that may have been better for us. We left our bags in reception so we could explore some more of Rome, and returned to get our bags. The staff rang for a taxi on request.

On the whole, would I stay there again, in the same circumstances yes, but not as somewhere for a romantic break like the people in room 3!

Room Tip: From the reviews maybe the 2nd floor has better rooms

My husband and I took a trip down to Rome via the train. This hotel was within walking distance from the Coliseum, Roman Forum and the Museums. It had a normal European breakfast. Cafe, juice, pastries, fruit and boiled eggs. Within walking distance to the Metro and bus stops and some great restaurants. They let us keep our bags there after check out so we could continue site seeing until we had to leave for our train. We would definitely stay here again.

Please read all of this! This was a recommendation from a friend for location. That's the OK bit about it. It felt fine in the day, but get a taxi home. It's not that safe at night.

First of all, we couldn't find the place. We got a coach from the airport which dropped us off at the station. From there you can walk, but it is not clear where it is! It was the smallest plaque ever that told you where it was. You enter a mini courtyard and then go up some windy old stairs. You eventually find reception a few floors up. We checked in and was told our room was another 2 floors up and we could use the lift. The lift was a highlight as it was sooooo old, it was almost fun!!

We were given room 8. There was no room 8. We went back down to reception and she got really funny with us as if we were causing her miether! She came up, then looked confused, then she began counting the doors and said 'this is 8!'...... never have I been to a hotel where you find your room by counting doors!!!

We went in and the room was tiny. Not as small as the TV though! The view was of a small courtyard looking into peoples apartments. Not a lot of light either and loud at night!! The bathroom was small... the shower was held on by black tape and there were no plug holes. There was hair in the shower too. The bed was hard and I thought it was reasonably OK, but my husband refused to sleep without all of his clothes on.

Breakfast was OK. The staff were really nice. It was served between 2 unused rooms. The breakfast things were on a bookshelf and the window sill. Th cheese/meat/yoghurt's were left out not refrigerated. The coffee was nice. No hot options and cordial for soft drink.

On our last day as we checked out we realised that the hotel roms contuied 2 floors down and the rooms seemed better. Also, the reception area which was quite new had a really nice breakfast set out for guests!! Gutted, maybe our experience would have been better if we had been put in these other rooms.

Rome is expensive for accommodation, this is quite cheap, but find somewhere else unless you are used to hostels.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the same floor as the reception.
